Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

My HD50LPW166 will not turn-on...

My RCA HD50LPW166 is not coming on. The power button blinks three times then turns off. Sometimes I get audio as though it is going to come on and then the audio stops the power light blinks three times and goes off. Some times it tries to come back but it blinks and dies. Is this something that I can fix? My wife things that I made a mistake purchasing the RCA LCD TV. This is just the second year that we have had the TV. I lost the video the first year.

Unfortunately all of these types of tv's are failing from poor craftsmanship , poor quality components , thus leading to inevitable break down ( just poorly made) if you want some technical info just click helpful and leave a note . I can help determine the cause if you want to get into the tv , otherwise you will need to call a repair shop to get it fixed

thanks for using fixya!

sorry you can't except that but I fix them all the time , so I know what goes wrong with them.

and I am only here to help , I don't get anything for helping you , so I have no reason to lie to you!

if you want to repair it youself , I can help , but you have to change the rating or I cannot help you anymore , and anyone who's smart see's this rating , probably won't help either , because we have access to schematics , known problems and how to fix it, our time is valuble to others who need us and want the help , so if you don't, then good luck on your tv

there is most likely a problem on the power board , it is not purifying the dc power , so the DC power will not keep the set on because the diodes that convert the ac into dc are failing , but also other components that help create and purify the dc power will also need replacing. but if it is a certain part on this board , the only way to get it is to get the whole power board assembly , and this can only be done by certified service centers

hope this helps you and your tv.

I have the same problem on my rca serial# hd50lpw166

It seems more to be an issue with your ballast, of course this is if you replaced the lamp before, but regarding the clicking sounds it's most probable to be your ballast. discountdashmerchantdotcom, the ballast aren't that expensive, they're around 60 dlls

Loud humming noise while rca Mod hd50lpw166 is running

There is a excellent chance it is the Color Wheel in the Optical Block. Some of the older models are not too bad to replace it, on the newer one though it is a major tear down. I would have a RCA Servicer come out to verify and get a estimate. Chances are do to the cost of Optical Block, it would be close to replacement of the Set.
Hope this helps,

Comes on and blinks three times, hold in on 3rd time

It sounds like youre describing a RCA or GE tv with the ITC222 chassis. If so replace the flyback and CP150. If I had your model number and chassis number I could assist with the flybacks part number for you

My 52 inch RCA HD/TV Does not turn on

Replace CP150 on the deflection board and that should take care of the problem since it starts once in a wnile if it didnt start ever then you would need the 259296 flyback and the CP150 Capacitor.

Blinking power button

Blinking power light is usually due to bad capacitors on the power supply. See the tip for RCA atc336 under my profile that can apply to your set as well.
