Okay, I need to know a few other things as the error code search at HP returns results for HP computers not printers.

Is or was the E: drive where your CD drive is or was located? If not, then what does the E: driver represent, a second CD/DVD drive perhaps?

    Thank you,
    Worldvet

Hi Darju,

Click Start>right click my computer>properties>hard ware tab>device manager>imaging devices>right click your hardware and click uninstall. Remove any and all software related to your printer. Now, we are going to go throught the steps to get you new software for your printer:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

49, 4c02 error in hp 4250

This is what the result for that error code is:-
ERROR 49.XXXX
A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort the operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some instances, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or specific software programs. Remove all EIO devices and firmware DIMM if installed. Restart printer. If error is gone replace each EIO device until error appears. Replace device which triggers error. May also be formatter.
Firmware updates are available for some machines at http://hp.com and clicking on the drivers and software tab. Also try printing from a different application. If that works go back to the first application and try printing a different file to determine if the problem is file related. You may need to reseat the memory DIMM's or replace the firmware DIMM or formatter board.

Installation error

Assuming it is an XP workstation, ask the person to go to start button, ask to select run, in the small window he should click browse and go to the location of the software, select the setup file and hit enter.
The installation screen should appear after a short while.

Don't hesitate to contact me again if this does not solve your problem, giving me more information about the installation steps you are taking and at with step you are getting the error.
