Re: mitsubishi ws-55517

The outside screen is called a linticular lens and the inside one is the fresnele lens. They both should come out together from the front as the trim on this set if im not mistaking pulls or slides off then theres mounting plates holding it on. Becarefull and dont try to clean the mirror as the coatings on the outside of the mirror. Also be very carefull not to touch any componets as theres extremly hi voltage in these sets even with them unplugged. Good Luck

Ok do you have cable satillite or what? How is the satillite and or cable hook up to the TV set? Is it through the video input, as I bet you need to try the differant inputs for the antenna as well as for the video, as when the TV gets unpluged, and thats basicly what happened when the kitty walked on the power strip, the TV set reset to another input. Good Luck

It is an indication of leaky electrolytic capacitor on the vertical section.
This is not a diy if you are not an expert.
I've adviced you to look for a qualified technician to replaced the faulty capacitor.
This is quite fixable and easy to locate by the technician.

The diamond shield has been damaged and looking for a replacement

you can get a cheap replacement protective screen at a local plastics company. you will have to cut it yourself with a cut-off wheel and dremel. or you can have them cut it for you. the original protective screen is to expensive to worry about at this age of the set. check the yellow pages for a local supplier for plexiglas/clear plastics 1/8" or 3/32" clear its cheap!!! and all you need is a phillips head screwdriver to replace it.after you remove the speaker grill there are 4 screws on the bottom of the screen frame. then you lift the frame straight up and it comes out. inside there are brackets holding the screen in place. be very careful not to damage the screen.

High Definition--WS-55807

IF the MITS has 3 component inputs blue red yellow RCA jacks on the back then yes at 480 or 720p, you'll need to attach 2 audio cables for sound. If it has a HDMI input then absolutely.

The convergence integrated circuits have failed and most likely the 2 5A fuses have opened as well. I would find a local Mitsubishi service shop.

Dm board (power supply) for mitsubishi rear projection tv (ws-55807)

Good day,

If the indicator stays on then you may have an DM PCB problem and to correct this do the the folowing:

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.

CURE: replace C9B01, C9B02,C9B10, and C9B11 (1000 uFD 16V) on the DM PCB. Replace them with part # 181P734030 (680uFd 16V).

The DM Board (PCB) is located on the very left side of the TV looking from back. Caution on removing Board and note what cables you disconnect to access the Metal Shielded Board.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
