I am pretty sure you can download Disk 100 free from the Husqvarna Viking website. This has all the embroideries that came free with the machine, plus the alphabets (I think!). You can download this direct to your PC or to a set of floppies, depending on what your Designer needs and what support software you have (or have not) got. If you have no Husqvarna software at all, your PC will not be able to read the floppy. It is in .shv format which PCs are unable to read, being an embroidery machine language only.
If you are trying to open the faulty disk in your Disk Manager software, I always found it worked better if I didn't put the disk in the floppy drive of the computer until after I had already opened Disk Manager.
Hope some of the above is useful to you.

I was doing the same thing.
When she puts the usb in, I would get a pop-up in the lower right corner, saying that new hardware was in.
I then would send my embroidery from my CD to the USB,
make sure it is saved to the right place (usally it will be a removeable drive such as E)
Then I had to wait until another pop-up in the right bottom corner that told me it was safe to remove the hardware. Click on this and click stop and it should be safe to remove.
Untl this I would not have anything on my USB.
Hope this helps

If your using Windows Vista, you have to have the multi user account in the off postioin. Also if you had 3D embroidery software and you upgraded to 4D software you have to be sure to uninstall the 32 bit drivers from the 3d for the 4d to work properly.
You do have to install the communication software that came with the diamond also. It won't communicate through the 3d or 4d only.

Since you are able to view them from the ATA (Compact Flash) card on your computer and the designs are in *.jef format you should be able open them on your machine. Make sure you have selected to view designs from the ATA memory card and not the ones stored on the machine or from the External Card Reader box.
There is an additional program called Customizer that you can import designs, edit, and transfer them to your ATA card. Mine was part of my package deal when I purchased by 9700.
