Re: how do i transfer my information from pc to my palm?
You should be able to just by hotsyncing. The question is if your hotsync is working. My dads coworker gave us her old palm m130, as she had no use for it anymore. After my zire 72 broke, i needed a palm to fill in and here i had this ready made back up. However, i can't get the darned thing to hotsync. Ive tried hotsyncing both with a USB port and a serial port, and on neither of them can i get a connection established. Anyone that can help will be much appreciated.

Inside the PalmOne forlder in Program Files, find a folder that is named the same as you Hotsync ID. A flash drive would be the best idea to transfer the files over to the Mac. Some flash drives don't work on Macs, so try a few.

You must install the version of Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager included on the CD-ROM with your new handheld, even if you already have an earlier installation on your computer, and even if you will synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. This ensures that the desktop components of any new handheld features are added.
Put the new handheld's CD-ROM² in the CD-ROM drive.
Follow the installation instructions that appear.
When prompted, select the existing username of your old handheld.
During installation, you will be asked to perform a HotSync operation. Use the same existing username as above.
Once installation is complete, your PIM¹ data and third-party applications will be transferred to your new handheld. Your new handheld will have the same name as your old handheld.
To avoid confusion, change the name on your old handheld once you're sure that you have all your data transferred to your satisfaction. If you're going to sell or give it away, you may wish to perform a hard reset to erase all your personal data.
With this method, you have a greater likelihood of encountering third-party application incompatibilities. If you notice performance issues or problems after transferring third-party software to your handheld, follow our steps for diagnosing third-party software issues.
Try going to the Palm home page (www.palm.com) and reinstalling the desktop software. Once you have it reinstalled then do a hotsync. I had the same problem and this worked for me. Hopefully it will clear the problem. Best wishes.
You will need to perform a hard reset on your phone in order to restore that program and have it functioning properly. I hope that you backed up your information for your device because you will lose that information. I hava Treo and accidentally toyed with the advanced setting and forgot to save a backup of my stuff and had to reset it. If you need help performing a hard reset let me know.
I don't think you can select which memos are transfered, but you can Hide them so they are seen on the PC only with a password, or you can use a third party application to save personall delicated info ...
In order to synchronize with Outlook you need to setup the replication to be with Outlook instead of Palm Desktop.
On you cd there should be a third party piece of software (Chapura). Install the required software and follow the instructions.
