I'd check there first. You'll probably need the remote as well.

SOURCE: DAV-HDX265 dvd tray doesnt open

well, if you hearing clicks is possible that you will only be able to fix by opening and looking if the door has been misplaced..... is possible that a cd is stuck and you need to open to fix.....
...
...
another way to fix is to press and hold Eject and Stop ON THE UNIT! while turning the nub to the right (volume up)
that will open the the service unlocking the system!!!!! THAT WILL ONLY WORK if the door or a cd is NOT stuck on it

How do I unjam a disc stuck in the 5xCD tray of a Sony DAV-C770 compact AV system?

If you experience difficulty with the disc tray opening or closing, follow these steps to try to resolve the issue.
  1. Turn off the power to the disc player or the stereo system, if the disc player does not have a separate POWER button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet.
  3. Verify there is nothing is blocking the tray from opening or closing.
  4. Let the disc player or the stereo system remain without power for approximately one minute.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
  6. Turn on the power to the disc player or stereo system.
  7. Attempt to open or close the disc drawer or tray.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.
this is direct from sony hope it helps

My DVD player on my Sony Dav-HDX274 5.1 Channel Home Theater System With Dvd Player won't open. When I push eject (on both the unit and remote) it will read open or close and although it sounds like it is...

It sounds that the laser pickup unit to your HTS is faulty. Contact any service technician to replace it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

Comcast on demand custom dvr 3 device codes for sony dvd-hdx576wf

It seems like most (maybe all) Sony HTIB do not work with the Comcast Custom Remote. I've found a work around that fixes the volume control and power button though. Hope it helps you all. I have a DAVHDX275 but I think this will work for most Sony HTIB systems.

What you need to do is steal some codes from a like product and then hardcode in the changes you need to the comcast remote. Set your AUX to 21232 (a sony code for TV/VCRs).

Then do the following:

1. While still on AUX, press and hold SETUP again until the remote blinks twice
2. Type 994
3. Press and release SETUP
4. Type 32975
5. Press and release VOL+
The remote should blink twice. That should reprogram the VOL+ to work with your Sony HT device. For each of the following function codes, follow the same steps and use the codes listed below:
Vol+ = 32975
Vol- = 31951
Power = 32719

Good luck. Let me know if it works.
