I had my tv diagnosed by a service tech and he found that my blue color tube needs to be replaced. If I wanted to purchase this on my own and then have a service tech install it. would anyone have any idea where I can order something like this?

okay my friend your tv vertical circuit is begining to get faulty you could be having some bad caps or the vertical ic is defected have a tech check your tv for repairs.if you are not a tech you cannot repair the set by your self.good luck.
Red color gun has failed, which will make the picture over saturated with the other two colors(blue, green) the bad news is the three color guns need to be replace in a set(all at the same time) because if you only replace the red it will over saturate the older blue, green guns then your picture will be mostly red.Unfortunently in most cases it's not worth the investment, better off to purchase a new tv. Good luck !
Check this site for info on how work on this CRTs. The process of repairing a leaky CRT is not difficult but time consuming and yes you will need to make adjustments after changing or removing the CRT.
You might have to change the circuit board assembly that is connected to the blue color CRT, or you can use rubbing alcohol and a soft hog hair brush to clean it.
You dont need another Blue gun. We can show you how to repair your seal and where to get the parts. You will need the service manual. you can get it at the following link. Click on toshiba and you'll see your model it cost 10.99 and we provide unlimited chat support to help you repair your set. Then if you click on the contact us link and provide your email address we will email your manual along with instructions on how to enter the chat sessions. I am one of their techs. Hope this helps. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
I have almost the same problem, but it was with the blue CRT tube. The coolant leaked onto the underlying PCB and caused short-circuits and sparking or arking. I purchased an exact replacement PCB for the CRT, but I suspected most of its coolant had gone, so I need to re-fill the coolant for the blue CRT to stay cool.
