I have a very similar problem. I posted a new problem with the title

"New home, existing alarm system, no information as to what the current access code is."

I didn't see your post before I posted mine. It sounds like a single solution would work for both of our situations.

Thanks for the tip Jane Deaux. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, but perhaps it will work for litaliano.

Any other default Access codes to try and/or other methods to reset the system to a factory default. I noticed that there are some jumper pins as well as what appears to be some other connection interface (10 pin header I believe.) Is there some way to utilize the jumper pins to reset the system?

On Simon panels, the master code should default to 1234 if it's been powered down for several hours (I can't remember how long, at least four hours, possibly 12-16). So, unplug it from the wall and disconnect the system battery and leave it for the night. Power it up by plugging in the battery first and plug it into the wall. Then enter the code as 1234. It should annouce that the alarm system is disarmed. If so, your code is 1234. ;)

When removing the battery, be very careful to not break the little tab that holds it shut! Can't stress that enough.

In my house security system it is emmiting very low siren noise inside the house when the system is off. This siren noise is going on for last 8 hours.

There is another box where you can disable the sound. Either your wireless system is down, battery is low and without house current (unplugged?) or you had a break in the line somewhere.

I have a GE Simon System .. It's about 5 years old. My front door sensor keeps saying low battery even though I've replaced the battery, twice. Any ideas ?

Make sure the battery is exactly what you need. If it is a lithium battery you need to verify the volts - it won't work unless it is exactly the right one. Replacing the lithium battery with one that looks the same won't work if the voltage is different.

If you are using AA or AAA's make sure all dust is removed from the sensor and the batteries are in place properly.

Low Battery warning on Simon 3 even when I changed it out

temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.

I replaced back-up battery in my GE simon 3 ( 4 hrs ago), however when I perform a system status check I still get the msg "low battery".

You must unplug the transformer to the system before installing the new battery so the system recognizes that the battery is in place. Once you have installed the battery it is safe to plug the transformer back in.

GE Simon 3 low battery warning: Newer battery has 6.54V?

Read the battery voltage with the system on but with the ac power disconnected. I always suspect the battery from experience. Battery needs to be replaced every few years normally(but can vary).

Simon 3 "System Low Battery" after 3 years use

I install these panels.  For the low battery message to clear you need to power the system down completely.  To do this you need to unplug the battery and also unplug the transformer plugged into an electrical outlet.  When you power the system back up, you need to first plug in the battery leads.  Then the transformer.

it should be a 6 volt, 1.3 amp hour battery. you can get them at batteries plus. best bet is to take the old one with you to the store to ensure that it fits.

System Low Battery

Response 1 is correct. If you plugged the transformer into an outlet before connecting the battery the system wont see the battery and give you that error. Should be a simple fix however. Unplug the battery and then the transformer, then reverse the process. Plug in the battery and your Simon should power up, then plug in the transformer. If this doesn't help then you should replace the battery. Did you buy the system from a dealer and have it professionally installed or did you do-it-yourself? If it was professionally installed have your technician come back out to diagnose/replace the battery if needed. Good Luck.
