You need to reset the CD player. Remove the front panel and you will see a tiny hole in the middle of the panel of the unit mounted in the dash (i.e. without front panel). Gently push a ball point pen or pin in to press the reset switch.

You are most likely having an issue with a blown speaker or shorted speaker lead. I would recommend going to a good car audio shop and have them check over the install and your system to properly fix the problem.

You can download a manual for your radio from www.jvc.com

Installing a new stereo. I am trying to install a ''JVC KD-R210'' in my wifes 1985 BMW 535i, replacing a Sony CDX-R79 and in the trunk is a Pioneer 12 disc cd changer that was hooked up to the system. This...

There is a line level converter that would need to be purchased to that you can get the front speakers to work with the amplifier. The stereo already has rca jacks for the rear speakers. You can connect these straight to the amplifier for it to work. Bes sure that you use the blue wire to connect to the remote turn on for the amplifiers. Once you get the line level converter you will connect the wires and connect the converter using the RCA jacks. The question would be how was the 12 disc changer connected to the system. Would need more information on the changer in order to help with that component.

JVC Daisy Chain

If your autochanger has an input as well as an output connector it will be possible. The iPod adapter would have to be plugged into the changer's input, and the changer's output cable would run to the KD-G421.

This manual here from JVC shows a diagram on the middle of page 1 where an i-Pod adapter (I'm assuming you have the KS-PD100) is connected daisy-chained with an XM tuner or a DLP unit. Although it doesn't explicitly say that it would work with a CD changer, I don't think it'll be a problem as long as you have an input on the changer.

Alternor noise

I had the same problem with my Pioneer Head Unit.

I changed the ground of the Head Unit and the AMP to the same location and that took care of the Alternator noise.

Best of Luck.

Converting dc to ac

You need a DC power supply of at least 8 amps (20 would be better). Try MCM: http://www.mcminone.com/product.asp?product_id=28-8945&catalog_name=MCMProducts

Help

Hi, Normally, your JVC Car Stereo will not allow direct connection to an Apple iPod. However, there are several aftermarket interface adaptor that will allow you to do so: 1. Connect the iPod to a JVC KS-PD100 which in turn is connected to the CD changer jack of the KD-G720 (rear of the unit). Set the stereo to CD changer external input setting and you're ready to go; 2. Connect the iPod to an FM Transmitter such as the Griffin iTrip (w/ Dock connector) which in turn will broadcast the IPod music as an FM signal. Operating the KD-G720 on FM radio setting will receive the IPod's broadcast music. Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
