Paper will not feed into the printer.

When pressing print the paper attempts to feed then stops. When paper is pulled back out it is bent slightle in the lower right corner of the paper as looking at the printer from the front. From what I have been reading about this problem could be (Sheet feeder damage). I can't see anything jammed in this area.

Me too. Probably a roller problem but haven't attempted to fix yet.

My Epson CX4200 has NEVER fed paper properly for more than 1 or 2 sheets. There doesn't seem to be any way to "push" the paper into the feed mechanism. So the mechanism attempts to feed 1 sheet, but there isn't any paper anywhere close. I gave up trying to make this crappy printer work, and eventually bought another one (HP brand). This CX4200 DOES have an excellent scanner in it, and I do use that all the time. But if anybody has ever figured out a way to get the paper to feed properly, kindly let me know how. Thank you.

I opened up my CX4200 and cleaned the feed rollers with a Q-tip wetted with a bit of cleaner, now it feeds fine. Looked like there was some dried ink splatter on the rubber rollers, that was probably preventing it from gripping the paper properly.

Code error 5100

  • 1.
  • Press down and hold the "On/Off" button, which is located on the printer's operator panel, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then tap the button again. Attempt to print or scan a document.
  • 2 Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon MX700 to see if there is any paper visibly stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover by gripping the front edge of the printer and lifting upwards.
  • 3 Grab the edge of the jammed paper and gently pull towards you to remove the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the Canon's power cable and USB cable, and then turn the printer around.
  • 4 Pull off the rear plastic cover tab and check if there is any visible paper jam. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is removed.
  • 5 Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the power cable and USB cable. Attempt to print or scan another document to see if the error is resolved.
  • 6 Lift open the printer's cover again and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the "Push" button on the front of the first ink tank. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to ensure it is properly seated.
  • 7 Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the printer's cover. Power the printer off and then back on again.

Printed 47 pages, paper for page 48 started to feed incorrectly & was yanked out. However, LCD keeps saying paper jam even though entire paper was retrieved. Turning machine off, on, examined for any...

More likely especially if the paper was pulled out backwards, that the paper sensor just before the platen roller is bent or broken. When you pull paper back up thru the feeder it gets caught on this sensor tab and it gets bent, holding it up just like a paper scrap would. If it's broken or you can't locate it to bend it straight, you will need a shop to repair your printer.

Paper will not feed into printer

    1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
    2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
    3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
    4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
    5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
    6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
    7. Turn the printer off.
    8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
    9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
