Pressing stop for more than 5 sec doesn't change 'progressive scan mode'

I tried to get the Mdv560vr off 'progressive scan mode' by pressing stop button on the unit and the remote without success. Can you please help?

Your solution worked. I might just add, that in order for it to work, the tray must be empty and only the remote stop button does the job.

Try to turn off the your unit first, unplug the power for about 2 minutes. Then when you turn it back on, hold the stop button for 10 seconds then release.

DVD player wont show picture

to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.

DVD/VCR stuck in Progressive scan mode

With NO DISK in the DVD player PRESS PLAY, (display will say "no disk" or something similar) then PRESS STOP AND HOLD FOR 5-10 SECS. Our DVD was stuck on Progressive Scan Mode for over 1 year, this fixed it. I had tried the press stop, press stop and hold while playing a movie, but not while there was no disk. Try it & Good Luck!!!!!!!!

I can not turn off the proggressive scan!

Try this to disabel the progress scan mode: Pointing the remote at the player, press the STOP key to stop any disc that is playing. Next, press the STOP key again and hold it for five seconds before releasing it. This should turn the Progressive Scan off.

Stuck in progressive scan mode

You need to be sure to remove the discs from the disc changer and close the disc changer. Make sure that your TV is on the Blue Screen and it should say " Progressive Scan Mode" Press and hold the stop button on the unit....not the remote for 5 seconds or more and it should reset. However, if your TV is a Progressive Scan compatible TV, you may need to refer to the user guide for the TV as well....Many newer TVs Use a Progressive Scan Setup, but this solution should still work for you. Make sure all discs are removed FIRST!!!
