It is probably in progressive scan mode - hence why you get no picture. Your TV may not support progressive scan, so you can try the following:
Without a disc inserted, but with player on, press and hold STOP button (on front of unit not remote) for 10 seconds, then release. This should reset the video output of the player back to normal interlace.
I cannot guarantee the success of the outcome, but it seems to be the standard reset solution for this and similar budget priced DVD players.
Fingers crossed that it does not require further action.
to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
follow the steps it may help !!
Press STOP button.
? If playing a disc, press the STOP button twice so that ?STOP?, appears on the display.
Press and hold P.SCAN button on the remote control for over 5 seconds.
? Pressing and holding the button for over 5 seconds will select "Progressive Scan" and "Interlace Scan"
? When you select P.SCAN, "P.SCAN" will appear on the display.
? To set P.Scan mode for DivX discs, press the P.SCAN button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds with no disc in the unit (?'NO DISC" on the display), then load the DivX disc and play.
You need to be sure to remove the discs from the disc changer and close the disc changer. Make sure that your TV is on the Blue Screen and it should say " Progressive Scan Mode"
Press and hold the stop button on the unit....not the remote for 5 seconds or more and it should reset. However, if your TV is a Progressive Scan compatible TV, you may need to refer to the user guide for the TV as well....Many newer TVs Use a Progressive Scan Setup, but this solution should still work for you. Make sure all discs are removed FIRST!!!
