Occasionally a usb device fails to register correctly. Windows Help
suggests that you open device manager, find the offending usb device,
which will have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, and
right-click - Uninstall. Then let windows search for the device drivers
when a new one is discovered. It helps if Windows is up-to-date (windows
update). If things still fail, try a different USB port. USB hubs
generally don't work so well with music players.
