Had red convergence problem for Mitsubishi 65" rear projection tv.
Just replace both STK-380 IC's, all big resistors are good.
Solder connections look good.
Set to factory default convergence.
Red + off, but will not move any direction. (Blue can be moved)

Re: Red convergence problem - Mitsubishi 65
It sounds like your red gun might be close to going, we had the same problem our tv. The red was off and couldnt really be adjusted but the others were alright. We were told that the red gun was nearing the end of its life and it could cost upwards of $1000 to fix, so we just got a new tv. i would suggest having a tv tech come out and look just to make sure, but thats wut it sounds like.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Your Convergence ICs have failed. Replace the STK chips, check fuses and the resistors next to the STK chips. Replace as necessary and re-align via the service menu.
Use this simple test to verify. Go to the users menu on the tv. Look for the converge option to align the red and blue colors
If you cannot move the red either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for red section. If you cannot move the blue either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for the blue section.
If you can move both in each direction then the problem is something else.
Note if one STK chip fails, you replace both regardless.
The tv 100% have convergence problems,it dead.If any colors lines don't matches or stay in the - + convergence grid. The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.The tv conververgence board must have these parts changes to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
If you see separation of colors (red, green) in this wavey line most likely you have problem with convergence circuit. Two convergence amps have to be replaced. They located in a middle of the TV boards attached to big aluminum radiator and they part number starts with letters "STK". I would recommend to let professional with this repair. Should cost you about $250-$300. Regards. Russ.
I suspect you have a bad convergence ic bad the letters 0n the ics start with stk replace ic you will have a good shot that will fix it. you do need to be able to solder . be careful. there are 2 ics replace both .
There are two ic that should be replaced in convergence. It is like doing your breaks on your car you should do both sides. the parts are only 30. dollars.there are differant kinds for each model
stk 392-150 or stk392-040 so on the part you need will be on the convergence .make sure you check the resistor around convergence ics if they are burned you have to replace them to.
a tv shop charges around 300.00 to fix this repair
