My last D-Link is on vacation at a customer site on a island :-)

What are you trying to set up? Can you get internet access? You're on the right track, now you have to tell the routher what you want to do. Please post back and be specific as to what doesn't work.

When you go to your routner and put in username and password, the boxes that are a "lot of stuff" has a tab on the top HOME being one of them, and a tab down the side WIRELESS being one of them. When you click on WIRELESS, you should see a screen that has a box marked Enabled or Disabled. Check ENABLED. Give your SSID a descriptive name like Eagleye and (optionally) turn on WEP. I tend to give all of mine 1011121314 as the 64 bit encryption so I never forget it.

Save your settings and your SSID name should show up on wireless devices. If it doesn't, then click on ADVANCED and PERFORMANCE tabs and make sure the SSID is enabled. Keep in mind that you can also DISABLE SSID and set up all your wireless devices by keying the SSID the same as the one you gave it. Then you don't have to use WEP and it will improve your wirless performance.

Here's a link to the 514 manual if you need to ask other questions. This is for a rev C, but you can step back into the website for an A or B model. Most notably, check out the WEP and SSID FAQ tabs.

Hi, My d-link dl-604 suddenly stopped working. When I plug it in, only the power led and #4 lights are up. None of the other leds are responding nor the internet is not working as well. Please help. Thanks

The following reset procedure will completely restore the default settings on your D-Linkmag-glass_10x10.gif device including your password. This procedure applies to the DI-514, DI-524, DI-604, DI-614+, DI-624, DI-754, DI-764, DI-774, DI-784, DI-804V, DWL-700AP, DWL-800AP+, DWL-900AP+, DWL-1000AP+, DWL-2000AP, DWL-2100AP, DWL-6000AP, DWL-7000AP, and DWL-7100AP.

Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.

Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.

Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.

Step 4 Release the Reset button.

Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.

Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure.

The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank.

Hope this helps! Give me thumbs please!

D-link DI-514

The information he gave you was correct for a new DI-514 but if this has already been used it could be that the password was set. To take care of this problem, you can return the router to factory default settings by inserting a paper clip into the reset hole at the back (leave the router plugged in and turned on), hold it for ten seconds and then release. The router should reboot. Try the 192 and admin again.

DI 514 and Skyway

if A is the skyway modem with the adress 192.168.1.1
if B is the DI 514 WAN port with the adress 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.1 set as gatway
and if C is your computer with the adress 192.168.2.2 and 192.168.2.1 set as gatway
and if D is the di 514 LAN port with the adress 192.168.2.1

than it works
"When I route it through the DI 514 I can access the internet but not the modem" u dont route it, u NAT it. so if u cant acces it with the right setings then try to xpoze yor computer host in DMZ seting

Connecting 2 computer thru DI-514

Well I believe wat ya need to do is simply obtain a NEW "Account" with NEW Logon & Password with a NEW Internet Service Provider. Then you set up the modem to connect to the new ISP, at the NEW ISP's address, with the NEW Password & Logon. When you got the modem ya should have got a "Setup" CD that should walk ya thru the connection routine... Below is a link for a "Users Manual" that should help you get connected. ftp://ftp.dlink.de/di/di-514/documentation/DI-514_qig_en_Quick-Install.pdf
