What is percentage of oil for Ryobi cs 30

Fuel/Oil Mix ratio is 40:1. That is 3.2 oz oil per gallon of gas, or 1.6 ounces of oil/ half gallon of gas. I highly recommend using a good synthetic 2 stroke oil. Many benefits there.

I have recently obtained a Homelite "zip start" trim n edge string trimmer. What fuel mixture is recommended for it?

Modern Homelite equipment uses a 50;1 fuel mixture. That is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to 1 gallon (U.S.) of gasoline. I highly recommend to use a quality 2 cycle oil that is designed for lawn equipment. I also recommend to use a mix that contains fuel stabilizer. This will usually be in a 3.2 ounce bottle.
Always use fresh fuel, it prevents problems in your equipment.

Good luck!

HOW DO I INSTALL A NEW STRING IN A PRO CUT 11 for Ryobi RLT30CD trimmer

LINE REPLACEMENT (Fig. 8) (For Reel EasyTM Head) Use 2.4mm monofilament string. Use original manufacturer's replacement string for best performance. n Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. n Cut one piece of string approximately 7.6m in length. n Rotate knob on string head until line on knob aligns with arrows on top of string head. n Insert one end of string into eyelet located on the side of the string head and push until string comes out through eyelet on the other side. Continue to push string through the string head until the middle section of the string is inside the string head and string outside the string head is evenly divided on each side. n Rotate the knob counterclockwise on the string head to wind the string. Wind the string until approximately 20cm remains protruding from the string head. INSTALLING STRING IN PRO CUT II STRING HEAD Use monofilament string between 2.4 mm and 2.7 mm diameter. Use original manufacturer's replacement string for best performance. n Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. n Gather two of the pre-cut lengths of trimmer line provided or cut two pieces of trimmer line, in 28 cm lengths. n Insert the strings into the slots located on the sides of the string head. String should be pushed in until approximately 2 cm protrudes from the holes on the top of the string head. n Remove old string by pulling it from the holes located on the top of the string head. http://www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/pdfs/89/p4763889.pdf

Do not know how to correctly string so string will come out as it is supposed to on my poulan pro weedeater, do not have directions

There are five ways to change trimmer line depending upon the style of trimmer head on your unit.

The first style has a locking tab on the side of the trimmer head that must be depressed while the lock ring is turned counter-clockwise. This will remove the cover and give access to the spool which can then be pulled out, rewound with the line (winding in the direction of the arrows on the spool), and re-installed.

The second style requires lining up the marks on the bottom of the spool tap/button assembly and firmly pulling straight out on the tap button. This pulls the spool assembly out so it can be re-wound and inserted back into the hub assembly.

The third style requires pushing in and down on the two locking tabs on the side of the trimmer head. This will remove the cover and give you access to the spool.

The fourth style of trimmer head is the Centrex. Remove the cap on the bottom of the head by unscrewing it. Remove the guide ring and remove the spool from the unit. Cut a 25ft length of line and insert one end into the center cavity of the empty spool. Feed the line into the spool, leaving 4-6 inches unwound from the center of the spool. Reinstall the spool, guide and cap, making sure the notch in the guide is facing away from the spool and the line is in the notch.

The fifth style is the fixed line cutting head. This style cutting head uses a pre-cut piece of cutting line. After removing the worn line from the cutting head, insert the precut piece into the positioning tunnel leaving an equal amount out each side of the tunnel. The ends of the line can then be inserted through the exit tunnels.

Pull Cord

I assume that the handle separated from the rope. You did not list the brand and model number in your question. More than likely this will require more experience than you are likely to have. If it is a string trimmer as the picture shows then the unit will require considerable teardown to get to the starter. When shopping for a string trimmer you should look for a model that allows the starter to be removed from the back of the engine with 4 screws. Starter repair is the most common repair you will see on cheap trimmers. If you have the removable starter it is a simple $10 repair but if the starter is located between the engine and the drive shaft it becomes a $40 repair.

Need help restringing it

For starters, if you don't have the original, in-the-box trimmer thread, you should get the appropriate diameter. Ez enough, you just need .9 to .10 diameter thread are somewhere around that diameter.

Which attachment are you trying to restring, there are several. One will have holes for a "fixed string" with a label that says "stop" on it. This is the fixed string attachment head. Take a piece of fix string, these are pieces of precut string that come with various other tidbits in the box, about 10-12 inches long. insert the string through the head the inserted end comes out the other side. Pull that end out to the edge of the "stop" label. Repeat the process for the metal hole on the other side. That's it, now you are ready to go.

The other trimmer head is a bit more difficult. Unscrew the top sleeve to expose the bare, 2 chambered core - have replacement or original thread ready to go (same diameter as mentioned previously). Once you have removed the top, notice that there are two holes with notches in between the 2 thread chambers. The notches will indicate which chamber you will be sending the thread that will be coming through the holes. Have the thread ready to go, and insert one end all the way through the hole on one side and then out the other. Now you must get the string ends coming out more-or-less equidistant from the two attachment holes so that you get an equal balance of thread being fed out of the head - either with helper holding the attachment head or by just hooking the attachment head around a pole or something, pull the 2 threads through to get them equidistant.

Once you've done this, follow the notches at the respective holes to wind the thread into the proper chamber, as if it were fishing line. Finally, put the head sleeve back

For the other trimmer head

The motor want turn the attachments i.e. string on the trimmer or blade on the edger

there is definitely a problem in the drive shaft. check to make sure there's nothing blocking the mal and female ends. if there is, clean it out and lubricate it so that the male will attach to the female slot. also check to see that both ends are not stripped. if the motor portion of it is stripped, which most liekly is out culprit, then it needs to be replaced, or you need to get a new trimmer. if you do, i recommend the Ryobi model CS26 gas trimmer.if the atachment shaft is stripped, the the attachment needs replacement. if you replace the motor portion you need not lubricate the attatchment slot. if the attachment is stripped, it needs to be replaced, but im quite sure the female end in the motor shaft is our problem. it could also be broken inside the shaft. make sure nothing falls out if you hold the attatching ends to the ground.

Ryobi gas trimmer

I don't mean to over simplify this, but are you using fresh gas? Gas string trimmers are extremely ticky when it comes to gas. They like it SUPER fresh. And while the gas and oil mixture should be right, it can be off a little bit and still run. Try draining all of the gas out, and then filling up with fresh mix. This is ALWAYS my first step with string trimmers, and it fixes the problem 75% of the time.
Hope this helps!!
