Remove bleach stains

For an immediate treatment of a bleach stain, try Sodium Thiosulfate (often referred to as photographic fixer, it is an agent that has been used as a way to neutralize bleaching effects of other substances. Blot stain at first with a white cloth that has been dipped in ST until stain begins to disappear of fabric becomes saturated. Rinse with cold water and repeat until desired effect or no more progress has been made.
If you wanna get rid of the stain without using laboratory grade chemicals, use white vinegar. Before this, make sure you rinsed bleach out of fabric, if you don't it will release a toxic chlorine gas.
Soak a clean white cloth with vinegar and start blotting stain, keep doing this until fabric won't hold anymore.

I have a Michael Kors watch with a white rubber wristband that has turned dirty and dark in less than a year. I am quite unhappy with how it looks, but very happy with the watch. What to do???

Thanks for contacting FixYa.
  1. The easiest thing to try is a regular pencil eraser. It's perfect for removing marks and smudges from rubber and works like a charm! Use white erasers as the pink ones may leave pink smudges.
  2. If a regular pencil eraser doesn't work, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or similar product. Simply moisten the sponge and rub it over the stained area.
  3. If that doesn't do it, grab your safety goggles and move on to the next step.
  4. Mix four parts water with one part bleach in a cup or small bowl. You will need less than ¼ cup of the finished solution, so only mix a small amount.
  5. Wearing eye protection, moisten a white cloth with the mixture. Do not use a colored cloth. You will likely transfer color from the cloth to the watch band and make your problem worse.
  6. Carefully dab the bleach against the stain on the watch band. Don't over apply the bleach or leave it for more than a few seconds or you may damage the rubber.
  7. If needed, increase the strength of the solution by adding a bit more bleach. Do this in small increments to expose the rubber watchband to as little bleach as necessary.
  8. Blot and repeat as necessary if you see improvement.
  9. Once the stain is removed, rinse the band well with water to remove all the bleach residue.
  10. If the stain remains, mix the Rit Dye Remover with a small amount of water to make a paste.
  11. Spread the paste onto the stained area and allow it to set for a minute.
  12. Rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.
  13. Repeat if necessary.
Additional Tips and Advice
  • Once you have the band clean, treat it with Armor-All wipes made for vinyl car interiors. This easy tactic will help protect the band from stains and smudging. Repeat every few weeks for maximum effect.
  • Be careful with acetone on rubber watch bands. It can start to break down the rubber and make the band feel "sticky." Once done, this can be difficult to reverse.
Best regards.

Water left in bleach tray as well as bleach

There are multiple soleoid valves which run water through this tray. The valve connected to the bleach compartment is not functioning properly.

You can see these valves on back top of machine after raising the lid.

More info, let me know.

Leaves white marks on coloured clothes

I'd try putting the machine on a hot fill wash, max water level put in half a cup of baking soda when the machine starts to washer turn it off and leave it to soak overnight, then let it finish the cycle the next day. Also make sure you tip some of the hot water down the beach dispenser and clean all around the top of the machine

My whites are not comming clean and are not a bright white

I don't know if this is a solution to your particular problem but when we wash whites, first, we wash them twice, with hot water, second, we dont use bleach!!! (this will eventually yellow them). Third, we dont use liquid softner. For the whites we use a softner sheet in the dryer. Since we started to use this procedure I have noticed a marked decrease in areas such as under arm stains in white under shirts. I have some that are 2 years old and have no stains or yellowing like this. Hope this helps

Rust stains and bleach spots.

I'm sorry but the white spots will be due to bleach. It may be that there was undissolved bleach in the washer after the first load. Maybe some of it came out with the whites and lay in wait in the basket.

I doubt the makers would guarantee anything for 7 years, so no free basket or installation is likely. Seems there is a chip in the enamel and dampness / water from the previous wash days before sits there collecting iron as rust particles.

For the time being you could try rinsing the machine out before the first load. That might prevent the rust marks or reduce them.

Liquid Bleach dispenser doesn't work correctly

This may not be relevant, but by design, bleach does NOT dispense in the Buly/Bedding, Kids Wear, and Silk/Ultra Delicate cycles. If you try to use it, it remains in the dispenser.

As for the yucky smell, leave the door open when not in use.
