I want to know which type of external as in add on that i insert into the motherboard of my computer will function; psi or psi express for the T3408 intel celeron processor 340 by emachines.

unfortunately there is no such addon for yours or any other motherboard. But I do have an option for you. if you don't want to have to purchase a copy of windows a very nice upgrade is the motherboard from the emachine (w3507). click link to see review. the only down side is you are going to have to purchase DDR2 memory since the model you have is regular DDR. believe me it is an upgrade worth it. and you will be able to use your emachine windows disk and key.

I need to know how much ram my motherboard will be able to run without burning up? I have an Emachines t1090 w/ Windows XP, 900MHz Intel Celeron Processor, 128MB SDRAM, CD-ROM 48x Max. CD-Drive, 20GB Hard...

The max for your system is 512MB. You have two memory slots and one has a 128MB chip so if you want 512MB, you need two 256MB chips and throw away the 128MB.
At Newegg, a 256MB chip is $42+ shipping of $1. I'd consider getting a new computer instead.
I don't think memory upgrade will tax your system cooling.

Hi there
Your t1090 will only accept a maximum chip size of 256Mb and so it will not accept the added the 512mb chip as it cannot handle it. 512 is the maximum size of RAM for this machine but unfortunately you cant put it in in one go

Emachine T4150 CPU upgrade

Your processor is a Pentium 4 processor that uses there are 3 different type of sockets for Pentium processors. Socket 423, socket 478, and the latest one is socket 775.
Based on the information here:

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T-Series&model=T4150

Your MoBo has a Socket 478 and since it only support 400MHz bus, then your maximum upgrade is 2.0MHz, because all other devices faster than that, need higher bus speed that your Mother Board does not support.

Hope you find the answer useful.

/Farhad
