Hi,
This might me cause of by two problems you need to check:
1 If you have genuine OS,and not expired.
2 your OS is corrupt, you need to repair (with OS disk) or reformat.

another secondary cause is due to malware or other virus infection which results in not displaying screen after bootup.

Try running in safe mode and run antivirus. or boot from OS disk to repair your windows.

    Ok,
Do you have recovery/OS disk ? You need to repair your windows.

either repair from boot menu from disk boot OR run in dos with cd support. type chkdsk /r to run windows repair.

In the Tray Notification Area right click the Power/battery Icon, Open Power Options, Change to High Preformance, click on Change Plan settings, Plugged in , mark, Never, Never. click on Change Advanced settings, Change setting to your preference. If you haven't cleaned your fan and vent, take a look, also make sure there is sufficent air flow, unblocked, from bottom of laptop to side vents. A loptop cooler is a option.

Unless you're familiar with Microsoft diagnostics and XP Recovery Console, I think that the quickest way to solve the problem is to use the XP CD and perform a "repair installation". Beware that the supplied CD disk is indeed an installation CD and not a "wipeout and reinstall" disk (many recovery disks are programmed like this, and using them will make you LOSE any personal data in the laptop!). If it is, you'll have to boot using a backup LiveCD (e.g. UBCD, http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/, or XP Rescue), backup the data on an external USB unit, and then do the recovery. On the plus side, this procedure is much more thorough than Windows' repair install. On the minus side, you'll have to reinstall any programs and customizations.

Try, however, to boot with UBCD and check the disk is intact first thing. It might also be a more easily solvable problem, after all.

I have a Toshiba A105 Laptop, Screen goes blank after windows....

Here are some easy things that can sometimes resolve this problem:
1) Sometimes there can be a static buildup on the mother board. Power off, remove the battery, remove the power cord and hold the power button in the on position for at least 30 seconds.
2) If that didn't work- Power down, remove the battery, remove the Hard Drive and memory modules and reinsert them. Try to power back up
If these things don't work, get back to me for some more ideas.
