Your Hoover Windtunnel may have stopped working for several reasons. First, make sure that your unit is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and make sure the electrical outlet is working correctly. Vacuum units, and other appliances, protect themselves from sudden electrical charges, ups and downs. Make sure the electrical fuse and breaker are on, if not reset breaker.
Some units may heat up and will automatically shut themselves down to prevent fires. Allow your unit to cool down for 30 minutes while the thermal protector is automatically reset. To avoid these situations and to keep your unit running at it's maximum capacity, make sure to change filters regularly (recommended every 3-6 months), clean your brush roll from any tangled hair strands or debris monthly (roller brushes are recommended to be replaced at least yearly), and replace belts every 6 months.
