Question about Samsung HLN567W 56" Rear Projection HDTV

HD DOESNT WORK AFTER HOOKING UP AT&T U-VERSE

Ive had TV for 5 years. Just had all the guts replaced under warranty so new digital card and color wheel and bulb. We have not had a HD hookup in the five years. We just had AT&T U-VERSE installed and everything works fine except the TV High Definition will not work. The technician tried to set the TV for 1080i or even 720 but just get squiggly colored lines when it runs a test. The technician said it normally just works when you set the TV to HD. One other note, the tech originally tried to hookup the picture to Component 2 and we just not the message "no support available" When he hooked it up to Component 1 it worked fine (except for HD) and we plugged the DVD into Component 2 and that works fine.

Is this a cable problem, or does the Samsung TV have to have a certain setting or is it the TV digital card is not right?

all 3 lights blinking means lamp has a fault the service manual says replace the lamp. If you need the service training manual for that model let me know and I will post the link as the training manual has excellent trouble shooting breakdowns for that model DLP

The color wheel is not the problem. If the spinning color wheel is impaired in its RPMs it will cause picture distortion, not black and white picture. If the color wheel looses any of its color fins, like if it is broken, there will be a loud vibrating noise inside the tv which you did not mention. Also if the color wheel is broken and doesn't spin, the tv will not start up.

The likely problem is on the digital control board or the power supply and should be referred to a local repair shop for repair.

There is an outside chance that you will receive color if you experiment with using all of the different input ports to see if you can find one that will bring back color.

I had gotten wrong information on this TV, YOU can get a Rebuilt light Engine for this model at Partstore.com, also the reason i had ark on blaster board it was telling me the Lamp was what was going out! So waiting on New Lamp and set should be good to go. PS found out from customer lamp had Never been replaced.So after replacing color wheel, Lamp went out.

Try turning off your Energy Saving option. (mine is in Menu --> Setup --> Energy Saving).  See if that helps.

Ihave a 50 in lcd vizio its been 4 months that i bought it it doesnt turn on at all,i dont know where i left the receipt


It should have 1 year warranty---if paid by credit card etc you can use that with most major stores--most will work with you on this.

Also most warranty stations will "take it" under warranty--they want to get paid to fix the unit under warranty--we have done this in our shop.

I've had U-Verse for a few years, which my TV is hooked to. All of a sudden the TV shows are not taking up the entire screen. I have used the "access", "menu" and every other button...


The box had something on and is not suppose too.Can't remote or manual turn off.Try unplug,replug the U-Verse box back about an hour later.By letting the U-verse box rebooting and upgrading it softwares,should solved the HD LED lighting up problems.

Fire the TV Tech! Your problem is the adjustment to the color wheel timing. To correct this: With TV OFF -> on remote, press MUTE, 1, 8, 2, POWER. The TV will come up in service mode: ( Left / Right arrow keys for item selection, Up / Down to change values, Menu to return to previous menu, Power to exit Service Mode)

Enter the submenu of item 1. DDP1011. Now, adjust item 4. INDEX DELAY to correct the "clay facing" problem you are having . Default value is 47.

You should have a "problem" image paused to check you work if possible. I hope this was of some assistance, best wishes.

My ps3 turns on but i have no picture at all........ ive had it 2 years and never had any problems with it. could my hd cable be faulty??? ive had that the same amount of time???


Hello,
Possible reasons for mess up:
1A.yes it could be the hd cable
2A.have you changed tv's to a standard t.v and switched back
3A.used hd cables for a sd tv because the resolution could be too high for that t.v.
4A. or sadly the system is dead

Possible solutions:
1B. if it's 2A. try putting the system into safe mode by pressing and holding the power button for 5sec. till you hear a beep and that should reset the picture settings.
2B. if it's 1A and you wanted to trouble shoot try to get another hd cable.
3B.if it's 3A hook hd cable back to hd t.v and see if that works
4B. Call SONY for help and advice and they may be able to fix it and if not you get a new system (for free if under warranty) for $150

I have audio but no video on my wii . is the game toasted ? do i need to send it in ? i had a storm here and some of the av jacks arent working on the tv it was hooked to . ive hooked the wii to other tv's...


  1. Have you tried another set of AV Cables. If you had a storm it could have potentially damaged the cables. Try a different set first. Borrow some from a friend if possible!
  2. If #1 doesn't fix your issue, try HD Component Cables. Maybe the AV ports on the Wii got damaged.
  3. If you are under warranty and #1 or #2 don't work then it's time to setup a warranty claim with Nintendo. Consumer Assistance Hotline at 1-800-255-3700
  4. If you aren't covered under warranty, I can offer to repair the unit for you, but it from you AS IS, or you could sell it AS IS for parts/repair on eBay or Craigslist

Vizio HDTV totally not workinig


It sounds like a problem with the power supply. I had the same thing happen on a TV that was only a couple of years old. It did the same thing that you have mentioned. Once in a great while, it would turn on, and then we'd just leave it on because we didn't know when we would be able to get it to work again. The problem was, to buy a power supply for it we could get another TV. It just wasn't worth it.

Your flatscreen might be under warranty. I would look into that.

I actually bought the 5 year warranty when we purchased this new and it was still under warranty. Gateway is sending us a brand new TV. No need for me to try to fix this, but thanks to all involved.

Antoniette, I had the same problem, however, I heard a noise like the shattering of glass. After replacing the lamp without resolution, I took the guts out only to find that the color wheel shattered. I ordered a new one myself for $90 and will attempt to replace it, it definitely beats the $450 service fee that I was going to be charged. At worse, I'll return the lamp and color wheel and contribute that $450 to a new 56" DLP with a 5-year warranty.
