Question about Toshiba SD M1712 Internal DVD Drive

Dvd drive icon missing

Hi
I am using Toshiba A135 laptop from 1 year recently i found my dvd drive icon missing i removed lower and upper filter and restarted but still i am facing the same problem.
U r co operation to me in this regard would be highly appreciatable

Check the same place you did for upper and lower filters and also remove the upper and lower .bak entries. Then restart the machine. If the problem is still there check the drive connections and check to make sure the drive is still good.

After uninstalling a product from arcsoft I got my cd/dvd drive unrecognized and having (code error 39)


make sure all leads that are attached to your cd/dvd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?
you might have to physically unplug the cd/dvd drive restart your computer this should activate the found new hardware wizard
Click start control panel administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver,roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

My dell m1330 DVD loads the disc and spins but never shows up?


1.control panel->system->hardware->DEVICE MANAGER 2.uninstall your driver 3.restart you computer 4.on tray icon a balloon come with a MSG of 'found new hardware' 5.click on it 6.select your driver from it .then select suitable option
if you still have problem buy a you op(win xp,vista,7..).using that disk repair you computer

The laptop will not recognise the cd/dvd drive


Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall cd dvd rom drivers then it automatic install it's drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter.Then restart computer then check. I have the Same Problem, it can play cd/dvd that are already burn but if i put in a blank it say cant read from this disk

My Laptop is DELL Inspiron 6400 model and DVD drive is NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A. My DVD is not reading it.After I upgraded the firmware from the net, also not reading.

You could try restoring the system to an earlier date with system restore. If your good registry has been saved this may solve your problem.

Dell Inspiron 530 wont play DVD roms


try these steps:
1.Go to Start>Run and type regedit.Than go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CURRENT CONTROL SET>CONTROL>CLASS>{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and remove the upper and lower filter.
2.Go to start and right click on my computer and than click on manage.On this creen go to the option which says Device manager and look for the option for the cd drive.Expand it and than right click on the option it gives you and uninstall it.After that close everything and restart the system.
3.Also similar way you can remove the primery and secondry channels in the device manager.
