Have had the Element FLX-3120 for about 13 months and I turned the TV off in the morning and later that afternoon it would not turn on, the red standby light turns on but the blue light and the TV does not.

I have exactly the same issue, we have this TV exactly for 12 months, but strange enough today we experienced this the first time, identical with the first post here ... the power is connected, and the red indicator is normal, just not responding to remote control or the button below the screen!

    Mine is a 32' 1080 HDTV

  • ajg2832 Dec 14, 2008

same exact problem. power on (red light) but the tv does not react to power button or remote (no blue light).

    ...someone help us!

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2008

TV is approximately 1.5 years old and have the same problem

  • Smeds Dec 30, 2008

I just experienced the same problem as well. I called Proview but they have no listing of any recalls. They provided me with a phone number to their complaint division. Has anyone filed with Better Business Bureau? What's involved in a class action suit?

I guess we are all the victims of this POS Element Flx3210.....Proview knows there is a problem and Proview chooses not to help their customers with this problem of not powering up. I had this problem while in warranty,3 months after buying at CCity,,,,,,BTW CCity they are worse than Proview. Glad to see them out of business

Proview fixed it the first time, they wanted me to pay shipping, I refused and finally after speaking to supervisor they agreed to pay for shipping. now12 months later same problem again. Called Proview and asked if they fixed this problem, since im not the only person out there with this situation. Proview said there was not a problem. Yeah right , Proview wants $240 plus shipping to fix, and a 90 day warranty to back it up. Sorry not me,,lost confidence in their product...Any attorneys out there who want to go after Proview. you will have enough customers to support our dilemma.

This Element FLX 3210 is a piece of ****. I bought it in Circuit City less than one year ago. It broke three times. I am still waiting for them to ship it back to me. I am so glad to see Circuit City is going out of business. I hope Element will do the same.
P.S. the customer service in Proview company is ****. Any attoney wants to sue this company?

I have a suggestion as to what is causing this issue. Pin 9 of the vga connector coming out of the PC supplies 5 volts to the PC monitors. This could be causing this failure with these main boards. I also heard that if you disable power save it would fix prevent this issue from occuring. Mine just failed a couple of days ago.

I have a 37in. element model-flx3710 when i press the power button the screen flickers then turns off, i tried calling the number for the warranty but i just get a busy signal....wtf!!!!!!!!!!

  • karbuyer1 May 11, 2010

If it is the main board is bad it will probably will be bad again until Proview fixes the problem and the problem is with the supplier of the main board. and I do believe it is related to being used with the PC connection also. We need to get Proview to acknowledge their problem. I have written to Proview and still no response..... If Proview is located in California we need to write to the ATTNY General abouit Proview doing business here in USA. China gets rich we get screwed. I made my donation do you want to make yours.

We are all victims of this Element FLX 3210,,,,,the problem will never go away until it recitfied. Ill pay the extra money and buy from brand name ie:Sony....... The sweetness of low price does not equal the bitterness of poor service. I learned my lesson. Proview does not get any more of my hard earned money,,,,,,EVER.

Replace the main board. Follow the link below. If you are handy you can replace the board yourself. I believe my board went bad because I had my PC connected to it. The part cost $179.99. TV works fine again.

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

How can I program an RCA remote to an APEX tv?

Is your TV older than the remote's programming date by at least 6 months? The code you need for a newer TV may not be included in the remote.

If the TV is compatible with the remote codes, then try the Apex codes: 1037, 1043, 1050, 1071 . You can also try the manual coding. Turn on the TV (turn off other devices that may respond to the IR signal). Then press and hold the TV button on the remote (the illuminated TV will turn on). While holding the TV button, press and hold the On/Off button. The illuminated TV will turn off. Continue to hold both buttons for at least three seconds, until all of the component names light up. Then release both buttons (the TV will remain illuminated). Press the On/Off key repeatedly (up to 200 times) until the TV turns off. Press Stop to save the code. Try to use the remote to control another function on the TV. Repeat the manual search if the code doesn't control the TV completely.

If the TV light blinks 4 times and goes off, you have searched through all of the codes. The remote exits the manual search at that point.

I hope this helps.

The magnavox t.v. i'm trying to program doesnt respond to any of the jr300 codes, How do i do an all search

Try this as all remote controls work the same when manual setting.
Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following:
Automatic Programming
With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.

1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.

2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.

3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.

4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.

5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.

Note:
• To exit without storing the code, press BACK.
• T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press
CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.
