I was looking for a forum with problems on my sony handy cam can came across one with a screen that wouldn't capture the picture, but would do everything else, you said it was a bad ccr imager. is that some thing i can fix my self or do i have to take it in. if i can do it my self where could i buy it i have a sony handycam model # dcr-dvd100. please e-mail me at the address below
DCR-DVD100 is mentioned in free of cost CCD replacement scheme announced by Sony.
If you want to replace it by yourself then it requires few $$ and soldering expertise.
I would recommend to contact Sony and let the job done by Sony experts. You will spend $15 in shipment, Click Sony Support for details.
