Re: how to replace cable jack

Are you saying the input for the rf dosent work?? Have you tryed the video input?? Do you get any picture on the tv at all, i.e. a blank screen, lines white screen, ect, ect. Cable jack dosent work???? Ok I think I know what you mean, but PLEASE in the future dont make me quess ?? Give as much info as possible if you want help?? Pleasse?? It sounds like the typicale RCA tuner problem as RCA's have been having this problem since they went over to canada ( and no insult to the kanooks LOL) No really since RCA was bought by Thompson corp they have been having problems with their on board tuners and the tuner sheilds. Almost every set sold in the past have had this problem and to this date. Im not sure who they paid off not to have a class action law suit against them?? Its a commonm problem that will cost you abot 75 to 150.00 Bucks to have fixed once and for all. .BUT IF YOUR NOT A TECH!!!!! do not attemt this repair as it will kick you in the butt as these sets as well as all tvs hold a very high voltage charge that will kill ya if you dont know where or what your doing!! Good Luck

I have the TV above and the cable man came out to hook-up to cable TV and couldn't figure out how to get the cable box to work on the TV turner. He had to hook it up to the auxiliary jacks on the back of...

is there a coaxial cable jack in the back of tv..(if not you may need an adapter..hook to antenna)..then set the tv to ch 3 and set to cable broadcast not air. then you will use the cable box to tune to ch.

Picture but no sound

Many times the jack which was plugged in to connect your surround sound system, automatically breaks the continuity of its own speaker system & if its not disturbed for a long time, jams the return spring which comes into play once the jack is removed. This restores the circuit for its own speakers. Try smearing the old jack with spirit or alcohol & keep reinserting the jack so as to remove the jam. Hopefully the trick works otherwise the set will have to be opened and the socket replaced or rectified......................sodeep

Imput problems with Samsung DLP TV

The parts required for this are available but difficult to find. The overall repair is not that difficult for anyone that has fixed these before. You'll spend more time getting to the jack than replacing it. Try calling Samsung parts and give them the model as well as the circuit designation of the jack. This designation will be written on the PC board. For less than $5 you should be able to get the jack. Ask a local service shop to install for you and you are off and running.

Yellow video jack on tv is completley out

Two ways you can fix the broken jack:

1) Find a replacement for whatever little panel the a/v jacks are mounted on and change it with the broken one in the TV. This would restore everything cosmetically and functionally. It also means trying to find the part which could be difficult and costly.

2) Go to Radio Shack and buy a video cable with an RCA jack on one end. Cut off whatever connector is on the other end, feed the cable through the hole where the old jack was, and solder the signal and shield wires to the same places the original jack was connected. Cosmetically it might not look great since you'll have the dangling cable, but it will work just fine and is a cheap solution.

If you go with the cable replacement you'll need to do some electronic soldering. If you don't have the tools and skills and don't know anybody who does, a TV shop could do it for a small labor charge. (I have no idea what the charge might be cause I've been out of the shop end of service for nearly 10 years now. But we would have charged our minimum fee of $20 for such a repair. It's probably more now, but ask around.)

Yes, this is an easy problem for a technician to repair, especially if you still have all the broken parts. If nothing else, he can simply install a new jack anywhere on the back of the TV - if he has to order the exact replacement part, it will increase the cost dramatically and take much longer. If you're okay with a quick fix that "will work", anyone handy with a soldering iron can fix it.

Digitial TV Converter

The antenna connects to the ant jack on the digital converter box. The cable you are describing goes from the tv jack on the box to the ant jack on the tv. If this does not work we will need more info. Hope this helps.
