Dont seem to have enough front panel pins for all my case wires

Hi Greeneyedbj,

What kind of I/O connectors are you looking for *********** board sir?

pcsyke_138.jpg

The image above has the following for your I/O connectors.
1. Three usb headers up to 6 additional devices, most casing can support 2-4 pins. 2. Front Audio Connector. 3. Front Panel Connector. Power Sw, Reset Sw, Powed Led, HDD Led

Branded casing has the following I/O connectors.
1. Esata 2. Firewire (Dont use the USB headers, firewire use a different pin-layout) 3. Chassis Intrusion Alarm Header.

Hopefully this information helps.
You can ask for more help.

You better read the user's manual, where you have all the instructions.

Download it from:

> PC had been suddenly powering off several times intermittently for a few days leading up to this state. Does this mean the PSU or Motherboard is at fault?

Yes, either CPU or PSU or motherboard are the likeliest culprits.

It's easier to try a different PSU than to try a different CPU or motherboard.

Need to connect the power buttons and accessories

This is the Labelled connectors of the front panel headers:

TOP = Left to Right = 2 - 4 - 6 - 8 - 10
BOTTOM = Left to Right = 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9
nonontech_10.jpg

and the pins should be connected in the sequence as shown below:
nonontech_11.jpg

TOP = L to R = PLED = PLED (Power Led) and PWR+GND (Power switch)
BOTTOM = L to R = HDLED+HDLED (Hard disk LED) and Ground + Reset (Reset Switch)

If you have problem following my instructions, let me know with more details.

Good luck.

On the Foxconn boards all connectors are the standard model, always with the name of the connector printed on the board. In your case probably the speaker has a wide connector - 3 pins wide instead of 2.  Just pair the matching names.
Here are some generic instruction - http://www.pcguide.com/byop/byop_OtherCaseConnectorsandSwitches.htm

Get The motherboard Manual.. read and follow the installation Instruction.. After Installing the Processor and ram and Graphics Card.. You must look at the manual and learn how to connect the Power and Reset switch outside the CPU Case to the Pins in the Motherboard.. including the HDD LED and POWER LED.. Usually this Pins are close to the Motherboard Bios and Battery..

Have you tried switching the power supply out with one that is known good?

A7V8X NOTHING HAPPENING,

When a power supply goes out the way yours did, it's going to fry the MB 99% of the time. So you're going to need a new MB. It's possible that you CPU is ok, but that could also go too. I would replace the MB first, then the CPU if that doesn't work.

I thunk your rite it met its maker, sounds like you followed all the test procedures, and unfortanuly that's what happens from time to time working great on min then gone to the GB in the sky the next. unless you have a DX card or know someone that has one, (and thats only to confirm its dead) sounds like you need a new system board.
