Question about Televison & Video
I have a DIGIX 20" LCD TV and I have connected it to a SONY 5:1 surround sound system which consists of a small DVD player and separate AMP. The DVD player is connected to the DIGIX TV via a S-VIDEO cable. I can play a DVD and get full 5:1 surround through the speaker system. However, when I want to view a TV channel, I cannot get any volume through the 5:1 system and have to be content with hearing the TV through the TV speakers themselves - which are sooooo rubbish!
Can you please help me to figure out how to get TV sound through the 5:1 surround sound system??
DIGIX TV has Component sockets (Red, White, Yellow), S-Video, SCART
Sony sound system AMP has TV Audio IN (Red, White)
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: audio via hdmi
I had the same problem with the same configuration. In addition to the HDMI which is (DVD and Audio OUT only by the way) you need to connect the TV to the DVD through a high quality SCART cable as well. Remember to connect the SCART cable only while both the TV and DVD are switched off. To get the TV sound out of the DVD surround sound you need to click the FUNCTION key on the DZ230 remote a couple of times till you get the word TV on its screen, this is when you should hear the TV sound coming out of your surround sound as expected. Good luck.
