The DR-MV150B has both a digital tuner and analog tuner. Since the digital conversion you more likely have not run a channel scan for the new digital channels. Plugging in a digital tuner would work, but is unnecessary. What you probably have to do is run the 'auto scan' feature through the recorders menu. Hit "Home" button go to the "TV" icon and select "Auto Scan". It will take a few minutes, but recorder will scan for digital channels and memorize them.
First make sure you have scanned in the channels. If connected to a cable box, only one channel will scan in then you will have to make sure you have or leave on the channel you want to record. set the timer and it should record. you can email me firstname.lastname@example.org for more specific information if you like.
if you are using a cable box / converter dvd-r and tv must be on ch 3.............
okay you dont have a cable box the tv is set to ch 3....the dvd-r, set up, initial settings and change cable to air...........then channel setting auto (scans all channels except HBO)...now you able to look at a dvd, record your show (s)
On the Notification screen with Cable highlighted I found that left clicking on Cable gave a drop down menu with TV on it for selection. The manual says that while Cable is highlighted, use the up or down arrows to get TV to be an option and then select it and Yes and enter. Hope this helps. I have other problems with my monitor on Line Out, the screen oftens turns blue indicating low or no video using Line 1 or 2 inputs.
you can try going from the wall to the dvd/vcr first then to the cable box then to the TV.
It may find the channels but they might not be in the order you usually wouls see them i.e chan 4 may be chan 34 etc.
this will only work on an analog connection, if you have digital cable box it will not work.
other than that, you have to control everythng from the cable box and the dvd remains on chan 3 at all times.
Connect your cable from the wall to the RF IN on the back of pd-dvr100
Connect your RF OUT on the back of your pd-dvr100 with a coaxial cable not included to the RF IN on your cable box
Connect the red, yellow, and white RCA Cable to the front or back of your TV
and to the audio out and video out on your pd-dvr100
Press the SETup button on your remote use the up and down buttons to select the channel scan sub menu
select IRC for your tuner input source
select scan and press Enter
The recorder can now record all scanned channels onto your dvd+r when you press the record button
I only got it to record the scanned channels.
The good thing is you can record on another station while you are watching a show on your cable box.
I don't understand why you would bother to scan channel when you have directv or dishnetwork??? directv or Dishnetwork required their units in order to watch any channel, which means: A. Depending on your TV setting,if you use RF connection from your basic directv to the tv,you would have to leave the TV on Ch.3 or Ch.4.to view the rest of the channels, you have to change it from the directv or dishnetwork box. You are NOT able to scan the rest of the channels from the TV,bottom line!! If you have comcast or your local cable provider, once you have activated, you could use the RF signal coming out from the wall plate straight to the tv and go to TV auto programming,it will auto scan the available channels for you. Don't waste your time on directv. If you are thinking about recording from your BASIC directv or dishnetwork box, you would connect SAT. signal from the wall plate to the directv box, then use composite video/audio output and connect straight to your VCR/DVD player under composite video/audio input. Now you could record the viewing channel to the VHS. Good luck!
