SOURCE: Red Curved line

Your first going to need to go to http://www.servicemanuals.net and download a service manual. Look at the schematic diagram, locate the convergence IC's an then order them from http://www.partstore.com Then hopfully you know how to unsolder solid state electronics. If theres a step in here you dont understand, like reading a schemastic, then a TV set is NOT the place to be experimenting around inside of. please seek out a pro to assist you in this repair.

SOURCE: Picture distortion

This should cost you about 300 to 400 bucks to repair. If the service wants more, they are ripping you off. The convergence IC's are whats bad in this set and both of them cost less the 30 bucks. Good Luck

SOURCE: the picture curves in the top left corner of my tv.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony2_bing.gif,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer2_bing.gif, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Color blends together. Picture has a curve on top of screen.

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

I have a Samsung HL-T5676S DLP TV and the picture just recently started to look curved. In the middle of the screen it's straight but on the sides it starts to curve up. Any idea of what could be causing...

make sure you do not have anything sitting on the top of this tv. I have seen this on my tv by just gently putting pressure with my finger on top the screen starts to curve up at the edges.
