Re: dead

This is an idication that the Hi voltage didnt start up. My experience with these monitors tell me the flyback and horizontal output transistor is bad and probably not worth to repair unless your a tech and know your way around tv circuitry. Its not advisable to go into these sets as there are no user serviceable parts inside. good luck

Display not working, power button LED turns on blue for 1 second and won't turn on again

Have you tried checking with another monitor. Meaning that if the second monitor does not come on then the problem is with your computers mother board. But if the monitor other monitor you check it with comes on then of course it is your monitor.

Not even any error message? Do you still see the logo of the manufacturer when you press on the power button?

My scepter e240 wont power on is it junk or what

first of all, check whether the power on/off button light (LED) turns on or not. If it goes on either orange or yellow/green, it means its not completely dead. If its not doing that then its a different matter.
Then you have to check the power cord that can be problematic and need replacement. If it is ok then you have to disassemble your monitor to check the inner fuse that is related with the power supply.

Most probably it is cause by the Capacitor, if it is dead and after checking the fuse!

best of luck!

I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the screen is...

First of all check your VGA cable is working or not.

If VGA cable is ok than do the following steps.
  1. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer.
  2. Disconnect the computer's power cord from the AC power source (wall outlet or power adapter).
  3. Remove the computer cover.
  4. Locate the battery on the board (see figure below).
  5. With a medium flat-bladed screwdriver, gently pry the battery free from its connector. Note the orientation of the "+" and "-" on the battery.
  6. Wait for 1 to 5min then re-place the battery back again.
  7. Re-place the computer cover.
  8. Plug the computer and all devices back in.
Second step you can do is
1) Remove the RAM from the RAM bank clean it properly and insert it back again.

If still you are facing the same problem ... you can Remove the CPU fan and put some cooling paste on top of CPU and re-place the FAN back.

Power-on LED AL1916 acer LCD screen doesn't work, no display

Hi - I've just fixed ny AL1921 which would be similar to yours internally. There are a couple of issues which are common:

Bad soldering around some of the copper coils (insulation may not have been properly stripped and leads to intermittent connection and (much more likely)

Blown electrolytics.

If you have ANY electrolytics on the main board which are swollen at the top or have electrolyte oozing out of them at the top or where they meet the board, then replace them.

My ACER started flickering and switching off randomly (no power light on the front either) and I though the power supply inside was toast. However, I found two electrolytics on the large power board (1000u / 16v) which had a black crust at the top. I replaced these and the monitor sprang back into life. Try to use replacements which have a temperature rating of 105 degrees C. Basically I think these things give out just after the guarantee runs out.

Hope that works for you.

Blank scren, led stays green for only one second

Explicit enough to see that's this a a repair shop job. That also probably means a replacement- cost of which will not be much more than repair prices. One thing how ever- the power supply[which would appear to be the problem] is this built into the screen [that is does the screen have mains power direct? Or is it powered from an external 'Power Brick' If it is of the Power Brick type - then a new power supply is the answer - get on of the stabilized universal type with a fistful of connectors and a voltage selector switch.
