This LCD was manufactured before HD signals were transmitted so It has an analog tuner that is why it isn't programming any channels. Over the air signals became digital 2009 so every TV was required to have a digital tuner to decode the new channels. If you still would like to used this LCD, you will require a digital adapter.

Ur tv a LCD or Plasma tv?No,LCD and Plasma Tvs have a Digital tuner inside the tv to recieve free air DTV.Not require a Digital coverter box,if u have a LCD tv or a Plasma tv.U must have good antena thought like a roof or a digital antena,so ur tv picture don't cut in and out very often.
Firstverify that the direct TV satellite box is set to receive and display digital stations. If you old set on the sat was analog, the box may not have been reset. You may have to contact you satellite provider. Next you will have to go to the TV menu and auto program/scan in the stations. This should pick up all the stations.
Ok, 1. Press MENU to display menu screen, and press c/d to select "setup". 2. Press a/b to select " CH setup", and press enter. 3. Press a/b to select "air/cable", and then press enter. 4. Press c/d to select "cable", and then press enter. 5. Press a/b to select "Analog & Digital Search Start", and then press enter 6. Press menu to exit after search is finished.
This should fix the problem. You'll have to repeat this steps to update the TV everytime the cable company changes the channels to digital.
Good news, your TV has both Digital and analog tuners.
You will only need an antenna to recieve digital OTA (over the air) signals.
I have provided a link for information on antenna types and the channels you will be able to recieve.
