Question about Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller
Ah! knew this one will come up, pop both the outter end cap with screwdriver (flat) -take note of all the metal or plastic washers position on the axle. see the exposed end metal rod axle and a metal washer ( called ring clip or circlip) on both side, you only need to remove circlip only one side, normally the bad, rusty one or the worst looking one! -ideally you need a special tool (£60) -but a pair of goooood plier should do it- but if you going to attempt yourself make sure you have a new set of ring clip or circlip, normally be ruin when removing them and for safety must be replaced with similar of the same specification. your new wheels set should have them! likewise your local maplin or hardware shop should stock them. Check the size of your axle 6mm 0r 8mm or etc. you might find the axle is slightly larger but the groove the clip sit in is about the 6 or 8 mm..do check! this the only thing that stop the wheel from falling out so check check check! get help.
Use your plier wedge one lip to the underside of circlip and the other on the flat side of axle...now squeezed hard so that the clip will be make it's way out. seee it's ruin the circlip. For safety do not use them again. replace them with new! and get help while putting them new circlip back on! you have to make sure when fitting new once make sure the sit tied in the groove design for it.
Caution, when the circlip is removed the axle might drop out, so that is why it is important to take some notes and drawing of all the position of washer sitting on the axle. they help to avoid friction and wearing. take a good look of the wheels position too, your pram brake lock depend on the slots on the wheels so make sure you face the exactly the way it should be.
fitting the same circlip can be a pain, position the circlip over the axle and tap them back into the groove with a small hammer. a smaller short pipe placed over the new circlip help to get it in! get help on this.
Your child safety lies in your good hands and good help, we do not want that wheel falling out when youre crossing the road. so do seek advice from expect to check for you! give it a good test and check check check pop back the both end caps when you finish!, good luck

Ok, I will try to do this step by step.
1. Place flat screw driver under hub cap and pry off (these we will reuse later).
2. Using diagonal pliers, cut star locks from axle, you should have received new one from Maclaren when you got the wheels, if not you will need to get those.
3.Repeat this process for each wheel.
4. Take off the old wheels and put the new ones on. Put on the new star locks (I use a small hammer), put the hub caps back on and viola, new Mac wheels.

clean the wheels with soupy water, clean out all mud and things in between the wheels and hinges area. Check for loose parts, cracks and worn condition, repair and replace them if you can, let the wheels dry out then spray the hinges and any moving part and source of friction them with lubricant like W40.
