There is no reset for a lost password, the only way to bypass the password is to erase it from the system, to do that you must reload the operating system using the recovery disks you either made when the PC was new or in some cases were supplied with the PC from the manufacturer. If you don't have the disks you can buy them very cheap from the PC maker through the parts dept.

Compaq presario cq62 won't start but the caps lock led blinks continuously and the wifi led remains on continuously, tried new cpu, worked for a while and started same problem again.

those are blink codes, learn to count them.
if you pulled the CPU i bet you that you used the wrong heat sink compound.
The CPU shuts off all by itself if too hot. your job is to get the fan working and the heat sink working and that thermal compound right.

Hi, One thing you can try is disconnect all power soures. Battery and power adapter for 10 minutes.
Then reconnect power and battery. This will reset it to normal. Good luck
