Question about Panasonic TC-30 VHS-C Tape

1 Answer

I need help, Please!!!!!

I think I bought a faulty tape! The others in the package were fine, but not this one! I taped my daughter's FIRST BIRTHDAY party, of all things, and when we tried to watch it, we realized that something was wrong with the tape! We thought it needed tracking, but that didn't help. The picture is as good as it's going to get without professional help! We can hear it, and see it. It's not jumping much, if any, it just looks like it needs tracking....bad. Please tell me someone can help me! It wasn't caused by our camera, because the other tape that we recorded the same day is fine, and both tapes were opened at the party and put immediately into the camera. Thank you!

Re: I need help, Please!!!!!

The only thing I can suggest is look at the tape( open the tape door). Is there a line or crease on the tape?? yes ?? not a thing can be done unless you wanna send the tape out to a studio and have them ride the tape path untill the tape plays through., if it dosent look creased then Sorry to say that the tape path post are probably loose in the tape path section of the camcorder. Have it looked at before it gets worse. Hope its the first thing I said. Good luck

I have a VHS tape that has an hour worth of recorded material on it, but when I play it, it plays the first 11 minutes, then it goes to static and the counter stops counting. I can fast forward but when I...

You may think the tape has an hour of material on it, but the machine thinks otherwise. Either it didn't actually get recorded past the 11 minute point, or something erased the tape past that point. There's nothing to play after that time, so you're seeing the snowy screen. On most VCRs, the tape counter only works when a valid video signal is detected, which is why it's not advancing as the tape plays. There's nothing you can do to recover whatever was on the tape, so I hope it wasn't anything important.

Tape is stuck

First take out the battery. Then start unscrewing the outside panels to take it apart. Basically any screw you find, take off. The easiest way not to loose them is by sticking them into the side of a box. After you get the camera panels off, you should be able to carefully get inside and dislodge anything that may be in the way. Once you are able to dislodge the cord or whatever is causing this problem. Try inserting the battery and ejecting the tape. Let me know if you are having any trouble with this or have any other questions and I would be glad to help.

Good luck

When tape is loaded into camcorder the tape gets chewed up - there seems to be damage to the casing

This can be due to a faulty PINCH ROLLER as it can chew if the bearing are worn out . If so this must be replaced, Also a faulty mechanism, links , alignment can make the tape to move out of the track and get chewed.
finally the tensioner of the tape which is tension band can be faulty and so it will allow the tape to be loose to get chewed down.

Some of my Hi8 tapes play in fastforward motion along with the audio, but the other tapes play just fine. What can I do?

Clean the header of your camera. Buy a different camera to play those tapes. Try looking for a tape cleaner and tape lubrificant. Some tapes go so dry and overheat while playing on your camera that they end up on a blue screen and only play on FF and most of times not even that.

A good advice is to keep your tape cold, camera cold and try again.

Dont heat your tapes.

Also try battery playback, so it does not over heat with the power supply on.

When play is punched in either direction it want move, not even in

yes, one nice overhaul will fix..(this can be done by you if you are daring...when u open take apart you will find a metal strip like band..I had used a bandaid for brakes the gauze side) you need new brakes (just like a car it is run down) on the reels in order for it slow & stop when it suppose to...or you can search and find a good old fashion repairman..(sorry I dont know of none)...for dragging, before playing all open reels fast fwd to one end then rewind it back to the beginning now hold the blank reel with that little bit catch tape try to tighten full side tape by going slightly going the other way not trying to stretch nor pop the press play

How do I play a JVC EHG tape ?

There is a VHS cartridge for a JVC EHG 30 VHSC tape. It's called a Panasonic PV-P1 Adapter, and think you can find one on eBay. I've used one before, and from what I remember, it worked pretty well. The only bad thing about it is that you need an AA battery to operate it. Well, I hoped this helped, if you still need it.
