Our two handset Uniden 2.4 ghz and our Walmart special have all quit. When you pick up one of the Unidens, there is dead air, almost like someone is on the line, but no dial tone. Nothing seems to help. I checked the line outside, we are in a RV, and it is connected, but the line was picked up by the maintenance guy to cut the grass. Thanks so much for any ideas as to what is wrong.

-   I have the DXI 5686-2, a 5.8 GHz extended range cordless phone I bought from Target 6 months ago. Both phones were "fuzzy" even when I first used them. We ended up only using the main phone and it was only acceptable within a few feet of the base.
It has all of the sudden stopped working. There is "dead air" as described in another posting when I push the talk button. The red light is still on and the other phones in the house work - both cordless and land-line. Target won't replace it because it has been longer than 3 months and I don't have a receipt. Any suggestions on a fix? Will Uniden replace it? -   2Cor7_1

-   i was in the middle of a conversationa nd suddenly the line went dead, yet it sounded as though someone else in my home picked up a phone, although we only have 1 phone, the one i was on. when i would speak there was a loud echo, like an intercom. i have tried everything to fix this. we have no dial tone, and can not call out, and all incoming calls (ringtone can not be heard) go straight to our voicemail. i know the battery is charged, and everything seems connected. please help!-   Guest
I don't have a solution, but I can say that my phone does exactly the same thing and I know for a fact it isn't the line because I'm using another phone on that line right now.
I have the same problem if my cable ever goes out since I get my phone service through the cable company. Try another phone and see if that works and if not it's time to call your phone company.

I had the same problem. I finally just unplugged everything from the phone and the batteries and let them unplugged for about 5 min. When I put everything back together it worked. Hope it works for you.

Make sure that the jack are in properly and then make certain that the battery is properly installed in the phone. I did this and problem cleared up

Can't suggest a solution; but, can let you know that another phone plugged into the same line works fine. Obviously, it's NOT a line problem. Thx anyway.

My troubleshooting instructions tells me to "unplug the base unitsAC adaptor to reset the unit and then reconnect the adaptor and try again." I did and it worked, However I have had to do this several times during the past week.

First my phones worked great, then I started getting alot of static, now none of the phones work, when you hit talk nothing happens no dial tone sounds like someone is on the line but no one is. I have the one with an answering machine and 4 hansets. My old uniden phone still works so I had to go back to that phone, so there is nothing wrong with the phone line.
We have 4 VTech phones and after a short incient where the incoming phone line was accidentally disconnected, all the phones went dead and we couldn't call out or get calls and there was no dial tone. How do we get the phones O.K. and working again? The incoming phone line was reconnected after about 10 hours of being disconnected from the wall.
