Question about Linksys WAG200G Router
I have purchased Linksys WAG2 00G modem on 23.05.2008 and its S.No.is SN600H572748 but could not use till dateas DSL link on Linksys WAG200G router is not stable whereas on the same telephone line ZTE modem works quite satisfactorily without any disconnection. The DSL link blinks for few seconds, then becomes stable for few seconds and ultimately it goes. But Broad Band connection does not work. BSNL department is not ready to take any action for line problem because their modem ZTE works on the same line properly. Please help me & guide for this problem
I had similar issues with my Linksys WAG200G WiFi ADSL modem/router. I tried with hard reset and reconfiguration and even upgraded the firmware. However things did not work.
I stay at Vasai, Dist: Thane, Maharashtra, IN.
I one day observed that when there is no electricity (as there are schedule power cuts in my region) and while my Linksys router is on the (sine wave) inverter power. The link is stable and the ADSL fluctuation (rather frequent fluctuation/disconnection) starts when the mains power comes back. I observed this situation for couple of days and then tried and switched off the mains once when my router was giving issue and Bingo.. the ADSL connected instantly and was stable again. This could possibly be due to the voltage fluctuations with the mains MSEB power supply.
Conclusion: The power fluctuation tolerance with Linksys is not that good as compared to some Indian made ADSL modems. I am planning to install a small UPS for my Linksys router as a permanent solution.

I (and several others) have had a similiar problem, especially with use of torrents... in the end the best suggestions are as follows, but do them one at a time and see how you go each step...
1) Upgrade firmware from the site and then soft reboot the device.
2) Reset modem - as mentioned by kakee.
3) In basic setup change your MTU to manual and set to 1300.
If all this doesn't work contact Linksys customer support as you may have a faulty device.

I suggest you to do a hard reset on your router. Press the reset button at the back of the router for 20 seconds then unplug the power for 1 minute. Then reconfigure your PPPoE settings. On the Setup page of the router, make sure to choose the "Keep Alive" option.
