Any of the capacitor on the mother board could be blown on the mother board that needs to be checked and replaced if the transistor LM1117 which you told to replace looks ok.
keep us updated.
thanks
Yeah that part is the voltage regulator. The problem seems to a power dropout. LM1117T-5 can be replaced if LM1117 in unavailable. You'll just need to double check if that part is already shorted or burnt. Visually check any other faulty electronics component as well on the circuit board for possible replacement.
Sure you have the pure audio off? this shuts down the display
Else u reboot urs once..Â
To reboot, turn receiver off by the small on/off button, not the big standby button. While off press the night and pure direct button at the same time and keep holding them with your right hand while pressing the small on/off button with your left. You will see your receiver menu flash. When you see it flash let go of the night and pure direct button and the receiver will reset it self to the radio station 87.50. The receiver's microprocessor has now been set back to factory.

Actually
it Works very well.
Easy to install.
Good remote control.
Good value.
To try to re-solder the board....
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LOW WATT SOLDERING IRON AND SMALL SOLDER.
~~~
Here's the directions that helped me...Good Luck:
By opening up the radio you will find a narrow display power board
With in the left side of the radio (faceplate toward you). This board
has a metal cover soldered to it, with a toroid (wire wound doughnut)
inside on one side, and a bank of surface mount resistors and
capacitors
on the bottom side. One end of the board (SCR heat sink) is screwed
to
the heat sink at the back of the radio, the board is secured with 2
metal bend-tabs, and it has a white mini connector on the other end
which connects to the faceplate. Remove the board from the radio.
On the bottom of the board look for surface mount components
R1057/C1071/R1058/C1083/R1064. The colder these resistor/capacitor
chipsets get, the brighter the display. I left the car out in the +5
f
degree weather and the display worked until it warmed up a little.
That
is how I was able to track it down to these temperature sensitive
parts. Freeze-it also helped after I narrowed it down to a few
components.
First try unplugging the power cord for five minutes.
If it does not work try pressing power button for ten seconds.
If still no luck, then it is faulty.
Try also the following reset:
Unplug power, hold Select or Start button while you plug back power, be careful doing this, there are srious hazards involved.
Here is a factory reset for Matsui radio:
Well, if it is the LM1117, that is a voltage regulator, and is not difficult to test for an electronic DIYer, just test output voltage.
when in operation, P5 must be 5V , P7 must return 1.8. Naturally, testing circuits with live power is an operation that must not be performed if you do not have a strong electronic background.
Here is the datasheet: LM2727, LM1117, LM78L05
Unless you see something wrong on the LM117, that is not necessarily the cause, any blown capacitor can give you same problem.
The motherboard of a Dab radio is not too big. Test all components that you can, if you do not find anything wrong, it can be a faulty CPU, or the firmware eeprom defective.
Hi thanks for your reply , but that doesnt work as ive tried it already, i repair electronics as a hobby and ive aquired this radio , im thinking it might be one of the LM1117 5.0v SMD Transistors under the board as that usually causes output voltage fluctuations but before i go spending money on replacing it i would like confirmation or any other ideas.
the set remains stuck on standby with the lcd display blue with no text on it .
