You could try pressing ctrl+Z. this is a short cut key for undo, might undo what you pressed and bring the text back.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do I get the question mark punctuation to work...

When you were typing something you probably hit the left shift key along with ctrl. Hold down the left shift and ctrl for about 2-4 seconds and you should get your question mark back.

To make it so it never happens again, go to control panel / region and language / keyboards and languages / change keyboards. Remove every language except for English (us) or whatever region you want to use. Before you accept verify that your keyboard is on your preferred language before you do this. check and make sure you are getting the proper slash when you push slash, to change it if you're not getting the slash use the (left ctrl + left shift for 3-4 seconds) if that doesn't work then try alt and left shift.

Need instruction booklet for IBM ThinkPad

You may have accidentally pressed a certain combination of keys at the same time. Try a few of these suggestions to see if one 'unscrambles' your keyboard:

ctrl+shift+num lock key
fn+ num lock
ctrl + shift

If this helps anyone at all, please post back with your laptop make and model and which combo helped you!

Accidentally turn on the French "E" somehow when typing and can't seem to turn it off.

CLICK CTRL and SHIFT at the same time, sometimes you may have to do it twice.

How can I unlock the blue function keys on my HP Pavilion dv2000?

Hi, I had the same problem and found the solution on another website:

To turn on and off Bilingual blue keys:

Hit Ctrl + Shift + shift
(yes, both shift keys at the same time in addition to ctrl)

and that turns on and off the Canadian bilingual blue keys on HP lap tops.

It's so annoying and happens to me frequently. Hope this helps.

CAPS LOCK PROBLEM!!! URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!!

On some keyboards, there's a hidden 'feature' where if you hit CAPS LOCK and Shift at the same time, everything works backwards, until you hit that combo again.

Try this and let me know if it pertains to you...

My typing goes uppercase without hitting the caps lock

I have the HP Pavilion and cap locks does the same thing.
THIS WORKS EVERY TIME. Hit both the right and left shift lock simultaneously about 5 to 10 times. It immediately disengages the cap locks. It is a little bit of a hassle, but I'm just used to it. It may happen 3 times per week, but I LOVE the machine, so I just fix it this way!
