Enter the web address below into your browser. This is a schematic of the set. It's not a step by step instruction, but at least you'll know where the board is located and the screws holding it in place.

Good luck

The Main Board will need replacement. Soldering in another cable connector will usually not work in most cases unless you change the entire tuner

My vizio l37 hdtv went black it is getting power the light stays yellow and does not go green. tried to rest it through tech support but nothing.

You need to replace the main board (signal). It is the board with all the A/V hookups on it. The part number is a number with 3 sets of 4 numbers and at the end of this number there is a number letter sequence with ( ) parentheses around it. Do a search on ebay and you should find one. Be sure to match the numbers I mentioned to the one on ebay!

I have an orange only light on my vizio l37. Most solutions suggest replacing the main board. I can't find any schematics telling me which board that is. Can you help me identify it?

SSB board which is also known as the Main board that has cable connector and av inputs on it /
Look for it at type in your Model number.

There is a blue line on right side of screen extending upward about third of the way

A picture is worth a million words in this case.

Since the line is not all the way up chances are you might be able to repair it.

Might be the LCD controller, which for Vizio L37 is T370XW01 or could be the main board.

if the line was all the way it would likely have been the LCD itself, which is not repairable; chances are still that's what it is, of course, but I can't remember seeing an LCD problem as you describe it.

Both the LCD controller (also called TCon) and the main board can be found on eBay and other dedicated stores. In fact I happen to have the TCon from a recently dismantled L37...the main board went out to repair another Vizio L37 just two days ago.

Hope this information helps.

Did you tried to channel scan under antena? your tuner may be bad. Replacing the main board will correct this problem.

LCD controller board location on Vizio L37

Display controller is usually under the Main board which you remove to get access to it. Display controller connects to the suis-boards which then send signal to the screen of the TV.

Check all electrical connections. If standby light is off when plugged in, probably needs Power Supply board replaced. If standby light is on (Orange/Amber color) may need Power Supply board and or Main Board. If set was shutting down on it's own leading up to it not powering on at all, may need Main Board, and possibly Power Board as well. If standby light has changed from Orange/Amber color to Green, the set IS powered on, and you have an issue other than power.

Vizio L37 37 in. HDTV LCD TV

I had a similar problem with my Vizio Model VX37L HDTV and replaced the main board myself for $160.00 which I purchased new on Ebay at The symptoms all of sudden started by the screen going blank except for a rectangular banner across the top that resembled a UPC code only garbled. No sound. I actually had to pull the power cord to turn off the TV. I was able to turn on the set normally but the TV menus did not come up. Since the TV was 19 months old and no extended warranty I checked with Vizio support and Sam's Club but no extended warranty=no luck. I did have an estimate for repair for $900 from a company Vizio recommended but a new one goes for less now. About 42 screws and a half a dozen pin connectors I replaced the main board. The set is working again better than ever. I don't know if I call my self fortunate or not since I did have a problem after only 19 months.
