Question about Hitachi UltraVision 55HDS52 Television

1 Answer

How do I adjust the picture, I lost my remote..

The picture on my tv looks distorted and off balance. (only way I can describe it is the picture looks like it squished inward) I don't know if this is because the tv is starting to get old or if something got pushed on the tv. We lost the tv remote a long time ago, but use our dish network remote to adjust the tv volume or channel. I tried to push the magic focus on the tv several times, with no luck. I also tried turning the tv off for awhile with not luck.

Re: How do I adjust the picture, I lost my remote..

Sorry Bud you cant. An original remotes available at or 1800-remotes for about $61.00 + shipping. Without seeing a picture Im not even sure if thst will help ya man. If you wanna try to see if an alighnment will help then get the remote. I would advise you against doing any sort of technical alighnments as this set has high voltage around inside even afterv its been disconnected for a while. Good Luck

Why does my sanyo flat screen TV have vertical coloced lines on screen with no picture?

Check the ribbons going in between the boards and "work" them to clean up all connections. And on the main board look for possible bad caps.

Your t con board is responsible for all picture distortions but not the vertical lines you described.

The screen is distorted ... double words and double picture

It's a convergence issue. Go into the main TV menu under video settings and look for convergence. If it has an auto convergence select that and wait a minute the TV will adjust itself and give you a clear picture.
If the TV does not have an auto convergence and just regular convergence than select this. It will give you a grid pattern on your TV and you have to move the cursor (using TV remote) and adjust each "point" so that each line is perfectly white. If you notice red or blue anywhere on that "line" then you have to adjust using the up, down, left and right arrow keys to "line up the red and blue lines with the nearest white line. It takes time and patience to do, but when completed, all lines on the grid pattern should be pure white and you will have a great looking picture.
You have to do this will all TV inputs (Video1, Video2 and so on) the reason Zoom looks good, is because you never used that screen as much and so the lenses didn't have a chance to get out of synchronous.
RPTV's are made of the three lenses (red, Blue and Green) and as you watch TV, these lenses slowly get out of alignment. So you should do a convergence about twice a year to make sure nothing is out of whack.

Good luck in solving the problem....

////my insignia NS-LTDVD26 turns on but has no light. What I mean is you can vaguely see the picture faded but it isnt lightingthe picture up to view. What can I do?

First try setting your contrast and brightness. It's a balancing act so you'll work with, but put more on the contrast. Also if you have access to a user friendly picture adjustment work with it. That increases the amplitude going to your color guns and your color temperature. If these are not on the set itself take you remote and hit menu and brouse the menu for control of these functions. Hue is an important function, it mixes red and green to get facial tones true. I hate to tell you this part, that's why I saved it for last. What you described it a good sign of the screen wearing out. It's the same thing that happens ocassionally in TVs with CRT Tubes. Hope the adjustments fix it, DanGill

Need to change tint, color on screen using the remote of course

Since you do not provide the make and model number of the TV so we can look for the user manual for you to read on how to make adjustment to your TV.
You just have to get to the MENU button on the remote for the ON screen setup menu and look for Picture adjustment set up to adjust the Pictures.
It should show Brightness, Contrast, Tint, Color adjustment choices.
