I SEE a asterisk mark next to either washington or New York time, that means something I don't understand. I don't believe it denotes hardware problem.

  • You should now do a hard reset on your device, which will wipe everything off your palm.... Then, before sync'ing, let the palm sit for a while and see if the time gets updated................. If it does, you will know that the issue is software related and this problem is being caused by something that was installed on your palm (such as a corrupt photo file etc.)........

  • If this problem persists, and the time still does not get updated even after the hard reset and you have not yet sync'd your palm, you will know that the issue is hardware related, meaning that it is a problem with this palm and it is faulty and this feature is not working on your palm.........

Step1Turn on your device. Select the “Applications” launcher located on the main screen. Step2Select “All” from the list. It will be located in the top-right corner of the selection screen. Step3Tap the “Prefs” option. You may have to scroll down to find it, depending on how many applications your Palm TX has. Step4Scroll until you find the “General” heading. Select the “Date & Time” option. Step5Tap the “Time” option. This will bring up a selection of digits. Scroll through them until you reach the correct time.

try to reset your palm, optionally try a full reset

  • Ekse Oct 18, 2008

hard / full reset would restore the palm to the original settings incase theres a setting that has been changed, or a button mapped to another function / hotkey.

Can't change date or time on my new Pentax K2000

Date/time are set at "first use" or through the tools menu.
Remove the batteries.  Leave the camera overnight, this may be enough to lose the current settings and allow setting new date/time.
Press Menu button.
Press right arrow on the 4-way controller to get the Tools (spanner) highlighted.
Press down arrow to get to date (or time).
Press right arrow
Now set to your preferred format.

If this does not work, try changing another item in the Tools menu.  If that change is not accepted, then it's into the dealer.

Problem with initial set up palm

When you turn your Palm on, on the main page there should be a list of icons. Make sure in the upper right-hand corner All displays with an arrow pointing down.

Then, click on the World Clock icon to change the date/time for your Palm.

Brand new Palm TX wont let me set the date to this year

Are you both sure that under the World Clock icon that the current date/time is set to the right year?
Sometimes the dates get set back incorrectly if the Palm dies.
