Acer Aspire screen turns black

I have been using Acer Aspire 4530 for about 1 month and since last two days the screen turns black after using it for one or two hours. The power light is still on. capslock light and numlock light is still as it was, but CPU light is off. The only way I could do is to turn it off by pressing power button for 5 secs and turn it on again. The problems occurs whenever it was plugged or not. Any suggestions to fix this?

I'm sure it isn't about standby or hibernation

screen stays black sometimes when returning from standby. power button led will be green as if it is on, and both battery led and hard drive led will be lit, indicating that it is on. the only solution is holding down the power button for 5 seconds.

Easy

Go to your power setting option and select never for turning the system to stand by and hibernation.

I think it is in that direction...by the way what OS are you using. And also check to see that turn off hard disk and monitor is on never as well....Its not THAT irrelevant what i was suggesting.

And if your were THAT sure it's not a stand by or hibernation problem next time please be more specific and precise that as well in your description.

Still on Wireless Problem

If your laptop is the 4520, you need to download and install one of the wireless drivers (last 2 on the list) from http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/free-download-driver-acer-aspire-4520.html (Check to see which one your laptop has, in Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.

If it's the 4530, look here http://seoroot.com/blog/driver-downloads/acer-aspire-4530-and-acer-aspire-4520g-windows-xp-drivers-download.html
