Normal 0 See section B. Windows Live Messenger in the info below.
Normal 0 Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:

After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ ) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
  4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

  1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
  2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
  3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
  4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.
NOTE: You audio and video should work. Enjoy.

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

SOURCE: HP Expansion Base - Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Set-Up

Any Radio Shack or Best Buy for sure and even Staples and the like will have wireless devices that should help you figure out how to hook up what you have. For that matter a new set might be so inexpensive as to save you the hassle.

Good luck,

SOURCE: USB ports in docking station stopped working suddenly

I was having the same problem - the USB ports seemed to have stopped working so I could not use the mouse, keyboard, or printer, even though the monitors and power could still operate through the docking station. Finally, I just unplugged the docking station for 30 seconds, plugged it back in, and everything resumed working. I was surprised it was that simple, but it's working for the moment.

Where does the mouse plug in at

If it has a lead on it... it will be a USB Just make sure they are the same brand where possible, mouse and keyboard & both have a USB connection on the end.
If they are wireless they will come with a small dongle which plugs into a usb port. The Keyb/mouse will work automatically. The dongle is just a small plastic box with a USB connection. They will install their own software or give you a link to get it yourself. A new item should have a software .INF CD that you pop in and does it all for you. Any probs just get back to me. Kind Regards Ray.

Touchpad, mouse and keyboard not working

Try installing the touchpad driver from here http://www.helpjet.net/files-Acer-Aspire-4810T.html#ATouchpad
Once you are done restart your Acer and see what happens.
If this doesnt resolve the issue it may be a problem with the hardware in which case you may need a new touchpad. otherwise just use a mouse as a fix either temporarily or if it turns out to be to expensive to fix.

My mouse stop answering the signal, and although with new batts, doesn't connect. The red light on the receiver is OK. It's a mikomi MRF-20

you have to hold the button on the transmitter and the mouse at the same time for 60 seconds and release at the same time to get it to pair.

Wireless mouse goes in and out

Clean the contacts where the battery connects. My wireless mouse was doing the same thing even with new batteries. I had to use a toothpick with a piece of Pencil eraser on its tip to clean the contacts in my mouse.
