If your manual does not give any instructions for clearing up this particular problem, more than likely you will need to have the printer repaired by a professional. If it is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer about a replacement. If it is not under warranty, you might try to contact the manfacturer anyway. Sometimes (not often - but sometimes) they can/will give you some insight into the problem. - Graye

Paper will not feed

Check inside the machine at both ends of the cartridge carriage path i.e. far left and far right. Check for scrunched up paper and note, if it is there, it will likely be black with ink. If found please remove. Next take the back off the machine (there is usually a removable plate there to get to paper jams) and remove anything you find there. Also look right through towards the front and see if the little drop down paper feed sensor arms are all visible and swing freely. If not, fix them as you can. Once you have done these things, put everything back together and leave the printer powered off for 30sec. Power it up and see what happens. If you are still no go, either take it to a service tech or check to see if your insurance covers printers being beaten to death with a 4 pound hammer.

Hi,

Try this solution.

* Turn your printer off.
* Hold in the circular button on the front panel of your printer.
* Turn your printer back on.
* When the drum light is lit by itself let go of the button.
* Hold in the circular button on the front panel again.
*
Once the Alarm light comes on, let go of the button.
Your printer should now be reset.

Hope this help you.

    Ink carriage not working properly

this is a common error whith this printer, if you keep on trying it WILL return to the (exchange ink) position eventually ,however,Another neat trick , When you try to change ink and the thing moves unplug the mains power cable , once you have done this the cartridge will be unlocked and will move freely anyway,, move it by hand and install the ink you have,

No power on my Lexmark X8350

That's the same printer I have.

First, make sure the blue "copy" button is lit. Printing is done there.

Then, go to the circle with the checkmark in it and hit the menu, and arrow down to copy papy size and make sure it says "letter".

Click start on your computer, then click control panel, then printers, and make sure Lexmark 8300 series is the default printer and has a green checkmark in a circle.

If all these things are right, you should be able to print a test page and the computer should work fine.

If any one of them are wrong they must be corrected. If you need help on any one of those please write back.

My 5 yr. old stuck a screwdriver into one of the memory card slots....now a camera light is flashing and the display panel shows, "Memory Card Error"

If the power was on when he did that there's nothing that can be done other than buying a new hp officejet, If power was off you will still have to get a new officejet, because then pins to read the memory card will be beyond repair.
