I DON'T GET A PICTURE WHEN I HOOK UP MY LAPTOP TO MY TV MONITOR.

HELLO,

I HAVE THE RIGHT CABLES TO HOOK THE LAPTOP TO THE MONITOR. BUT I DON'T GET A PICTURE ON THE MONITOR.

THE CABLE THAT I HAVE DOES HAVE THE VGA ON ONE END AND THE BLUE, RED AND GREEN ON THE OTHER . IT HOOKS UP FINE.

IS THERE SOMETHING I SHOULD DO IN THE CONTROL PANEL ON THE COMPUTER TO MAKE THE PICTURE SHOW UP ON THE MONITOR.

MY REMOTE HAS VIDEO 1 AND 2 ONLY ON VIDEO 1 I WATCH DVD'S. ON VIDEO 2 IT TURNS PINKISH BLUE WITH ROLLING VERTICAL LINES WHEN CONNECTED TO THE MONITOR.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION ON THE REMOTE.

THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.

Hello, Since I ask the question I bought a S video cable. I hooked it up, reboted, and I got the screensaver. Beautiful picture. But no Icons.

The cursor shows up on one screen or the other. When I moved the cursor off the computer screen on the left, it appears on the right of the monitor screen.

    Thank you.

hi check for vertical & horizontal signal not to put h in v position .so check every symbol on each cable &make sure it correspond with what u are hooking up with. then disconnet ur connection & run ur laptop alone.so if it run fine reconnect ur cable correctly with each one to its symbol. if it dosnt work , check for another cable.

I want to connect my dell inspiron 1525 to my lcd hd ready tv but have no idea how to? Does anyone have any advice?

The 1525has a a hdmi port which you can plug a hdmi cord into. This may not support the audio. the tv and pc should detect the new monitor automatically or you may have to toggle it by hitting F4 key.

How can i make the laptop screen show through my tv

Hello.
Simply hooking up is not enough. What type of cable are you using? HDMI? analog VGA? DVI? S-Video?
* You should also use [Fn] button in combination with [F5], [F8] or another button that shows monitor sign as well (CRT/LCD if it's in written form). Possibly by pressing several times in order to achieve results.
* In some graphical cards (usually in Intel Extreme Graphics) you should locate icon on systray (near the clock) and right click on it, then choose (Graphic Options) -> Ouput to -> Intel (R) Dual Display Clone -> Monitor + Notebook (if you are using VGA cable)

A solution in graphical details can be found here:

Hello i have a 50 inch plasma tv and cannot hook my toshiba satellite laptop up to it via a D cable. Get message that mode is not supported. Help!

Hello,

Please set the output resolution of the Laptop to something within the range of the TV.

On the laptop desktop, change the "settings" of the 2nd monitor to 1024 x 768.

You should then get a picture, once you have the picture you can increase the resolution to the one you want.

If you have the TV manual you can check and see what it will accept.

Thanks

Samsung TV can't detect connection to laptop

Make sure you set the laptop to display at a resolution the TV can display, it seems best to start with 1024x768 then work up.

If you are using a VGA - HDMI converter it is possible you will not get a picture.

You should be able to set the laptop to 1024 x 768, plug it into the TV, select PC input on the TV remote, and the picture should appear.

If not, then check you have the monitor output on the laptop switched on, test it with another monitor to be sure.

If all the above still fails to work, and you've checked the cable the TV has a fault.

I hope this helps.

Monitor Display on TV

Try the following:
Power up the projector first. With the laptop hooked up but not powered on once projector is warming up begin booting laptop. If there is still no display once its projector is fully warmed up and laptop booted you can try using the (fn) key with the laptop monitor switching function key usually F4 which switches the display monitor to show on external, external and laptop or just laptop. If this all fails try changing resolution of laptop to something that might be more projector friendly.
Let me know how you go.
