Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
The Solution to your problem is this. The screen can be replaced at any local used videogame store in your area. you may have to just ask around your town. Shop around for a good price or you can probably even replace the screen yourself alot cheaper by buying the part online. you can get parts for your PSP at store.richspsxparts.com
Let me know how it works out for you.

I don't want to be the person to give bad news, but after reasearching your question for you it sounds like you son broke the psp. The color screen behind the lsd screen is damaged and usually cannot be repaired by an unqualified person. If you were to bring the system to be repaired between labor and costs, it may be cheaper to buy a new PSP.
Hopefully, depending on how long you have had the PSP you may be under a warranty.
What I suggest is to call Sony. See if you are under warranty, and have it replaced for no cost to you. Otherwise you will have to purchase a new PSP.
The number for Sony is found on the back of almost all of the psp video game manuals.
I hope I was able to fixya problem, and I wish you and your son Happy Gaming!
