Question about GE Advantium SCA1000H Convection / Microwave Oven

No power on GE Profile Spacemaker II Microwave Oven

I replaced both internal fuses and no luck. MWO internal troubleshooting flow chart says to check voltage at low power transformer on circuit board. How do I do that? I see the transformer on the circuit board with two power connectors located adjacent to it. Do I pull those and test?

If I do have power there, the next step is to test the thermostats. I have four of these. How do I determine if they are open or closed according to the flow chart?

Thanks for any help!!

Mine went yesterday. The problem was in a switch that comes in the the center of the main panel. If I hold in up it powers on until I let it go. After about 3 or 4 tries it finally stopped working al together. The panel will probably cost more than a new one especially if someone installs in for you. Good luck

SWITCHES ARE THERE FOR A PURPOSE-----SAFETY,,SAFETY...ALWAYS CHECK A MICROWAVE WITH THE POWER CORD REMOVED---YOUR MESSIN WITH A RF VOLTAGE THAT WILL KILL YOU!!!! UNPLUG,,UNPLUG,,,UNPLUG
TRY TO CHECK THE FOLLOWING...SINCE YOU HAVE THE COVER OFF,,LOOK AT THE DOOR LATCHES WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR AND MAKE SURE THEY MAKE CONTACT ON THE DOOR SWITCHES,,3 OF THEM,,,--AN OHM METER IS THE TRICK FOR THIS - SOMETIMES YOU CAN SEE PLASTIC BROKEN ON THE SWITCH ITSELF...ALSO LOOK AT THE COMPLETE SWITCH HARNESS (CHECK FOR BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES) THAT HOLD THE SAFETY SWITCHES...THE MIDDLE SWITCH (MONITOR SWITCH) CLOSES WHEN YOU "OPEN" THE DOOR,,YES "OPEN "THE DOOR AND IT WILL BLOW THE MAIN FUSE..IF IT'S SHORTED.

THERMAL PROTECTORS RARELY GO BAD--IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE IT TAKES 25 MINUTES TO COOK A BAKE" POTATOE"--JUST LIKE THE VICE PRESIDENT--THAT'S A THERMAL PROTECTOR..
PLEASE BE CAREFULLLLLL TUNICA

GE Profile microwave # nm1851dm2bb lost all power while heating something. Could it be the internal fuse? Anything else?

If you're lucky it's the internal fuse. Otherwise, there's not much other stuff besides the fan that's easily replaced.

My ge profile spacemaker II microwave went dark, no lights of any kind and no sound or response when pressing any button. tried resetting the circuit breaker but no change

Did you check the internal fuse? Often when everything is dark the fuse that protects the microwave is blown. Take the old fuse to your local hardware store and they will have a replacement for you. Should cost less than $5.

My GE profile spacemaker II microwave oven will not turn on. I've tried a difference electrical outlet - no luck. It's a JEM31SF001 thanks

you may have a bad power supply in the microwave.or one of the thermal cut out has gone bad.
the next thing would be a bad control board.

I have a GE Profile spacemaker 2.0 microwave and it just quit working on me. Sounded like a fuse popped?? I verified that the electrical outlet was working. Is there a fuse to replace inside the microwave?

Hello. You have isolated the problem.

Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.
