Phoenix 100-300mm blurred pics

just purchased a phoenix 100-300mm f/5.6-6. 7AF and I am using it with the Nikon d60 I have set my apeture to f 8 as set by my camera but every shot I take is blurred or comes out totally black.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
