My 37 just started this same behavior....searching for solutions as well.

I own two of the same 37 inch Olevia tvs. I got them on sale at Target and needed two tvs. anyway, the tv downstairs stopped receiving the remote signal but the tv upstairs is fine. Both remotes work on the tv upstairs so it is a problem with the tv not the remote. I am still looking into how to fix this problem because the tv is really nice.

The remote quit working. I have a friend with the same tv, and the remote works with his, so the problem must be the IR reciever in the set. Wondering if there is anything I could check or try before hauling it to a repair center. I can't access some functions of the tv from the buttons on the set itself, and can't switch to the digital tuner.

There are no universal remote that listed the code for olevia, but I read on their site before they wrote to try Phillips, RCA, LG, Yamaha,...but none of them work ,

as i said, the remotes i bought are work with others TV instantly right after it scan the code that mean it sending signal out to other TV,

I don't want to bring this thing to the shop, because they will charge this and that and who know what else ,it will equal the price of a new TV anyway, if i know where they sell the IR receiver I would buy it then replace it myself

Which 'universal' remote have you found that listed codes for Olevia??
And, if you have a TV shop in your area at all, they will likely have an IR (infrared) detector made to check remotes for output. The simple ones do not check for coding but will tell you if the remote is putting out any signal at all. Of the two ends, the receiver is typically more reliable than the transmitting end in your remote.

Why won't any remote control work with my Olevia TV, even the original remote that came with the TV

There is a remote receiver built into the TV that "sees" the signal from your remote, and that "could" be bad, although in my experience, it's very rarely that. Usually, it's something that blocking the signal from reaching the TV's sensor window, or interferrence from a flaky flourescent light bulb nearby. Make sure the batteries are good and inserted correctly in the remote transmitter as well.

How do you autoscan the olevia 232 t lcd hdtv? I connected an antenna and using a uneversal remote. it just sits there displaying 'no signal'

In the remote, select the input as antenna. It might be now lying as some other input. Normally the TV itself searches for channels. If it is not, go to menu in the remote control, select install-auto and press ok.

Just got dish tv but can't code my olevia tv the installer said i cojuld get the codes online that's what i'm trying to do

Most remotes don't have Olevia codes. I just bought a Sonly RM-VLZ620 for about $20 and it does have codes for Olevia. Not sure what brand of dish you have - but you could check Sony's web site before you buy it.

Same problem as don5625.my moxi box will not control volume mute or power on my olevia lcd hdtv

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.pngf3b19af.jpg

Is this the style of Moxi remote that you have?
If so try these steps to find your TV
1. Turn on the power to your TV.
2. Press and hold down the MOXI and OK buttons.at the same time until the LED at the top blinks twice.
3. Press the numbers 9910 on the remote and the led should blink twice again.
4. Press the mute button. If the TV mutes then press OK to lock in the code. If the TV does not mute press the up arrow once then press mute and continue to press the up arrow once then press mute until the TV mutes once the TV mutes press the OK button to lock in the code.
*** Note this may take a couple minutes of trying to cycle through the code list to find which one will work with your TV *****

Good Luck...

How to hook updvd player to tv set

if the dvd player has hdmi connection use that.
if the TV has hdmi input use that.

if you can do both of these then use the TV remote to switch input to hdmi when the dvd player is on.

as an extra you can use toslink optical or coaxial digital cable from TV to home theater receiver for surround sound.

Can Olevia LT37HVS 37" be used in Europe?

You would need to get the transformer/converter. It will convert the power from 120 to 220. If your going to a military installattion, most of the Housing is American standards. If you plan on living on the economy and not near an American installation then your TV would only be good for your DVD and games. PS3/Xbox. They have satalite and cable, but it all depends on where you will live. On American Soil...your good to go. Off..... doubt it!!
