Question about Mitsubishi LT-3020 30 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

Color problem The blue colors on Component 2 go from deep blue to emerald green. This occurs approximately 1 hour after the tv is turned on. At times the greens will stay for the remainder of the viewing time, and at times it will shift back and forth between the normal blue colors and the greens at erratic intervals. I have my High Definition connection feeding the Component 2 connection. This set is 2 1/2 years old. It started doing this very infrequently approximately nine months after purchase. As of last week it is occuring frequently. If all power is connected from the tv and allowed to sit for 10 minutes, the color returns to normal when powered on. Please help! I spent $4500 for this set. The picture is absolutely beautiful when the colors are correct, however I am hurting, knowing I have a problem with such an expensive purchase. Thanks you so much. Hope you can help or steer me in the right direction.

Should read: If all power is disconnected from the tv and allowed to sit for 10 minutes, the color returns to normal when powered on.

Thank you vcdr for your solution. I did what you suggested and the problem presented itself. Could this be simply a poor connection of the cable into the jack or do you still think it is a cold solder? It actually appears to be a cable into the audio jack on Component 2.

I will keep a close eye out for a repeat of the problem.

My guess would be a cold solder joint on the av board. when picture looks good go to connectors and wiggle them if the set acts up you have your answer.

I hooked up my cable box up to my sceptre tv and it had sounds but the picture is black and white I even went and bought the blue and green cords but still only black and white

With the blue/green/red cords (Component) you need to get a very good bright light on the connectors so you get the plugged into the correct COMPONENT connectors on the TV. Note, there are white and red AUDIO plugs right near the COMPONENT input so you need to be VERY careful. If you get it wrong, the colors on screen are often off and even black&white.

How is your cable box connected to the TV? Screw on "COAXIAL", Yellow, Red, White "RCA", single flat connector "HDMI" or 5 colored plugs 2 X Red, 1 X White, 1 X Blue, 1 X Green "COMPONENT"

please do this test: God bless you

  • Reset component settings. Usually, the problems you encounter with a projection TV may be resolved through the resetting to its factory settings. If you experience inaccuracies in the color, reset the television's PerfectTint/PerfectColor capabilities. Simply press the Menu tab and then highlight "Perfect Color" using your right key arrow. After this, press "Enter" and then "Reset" in order to reset to factory settings. If you have audio / video problems (VCR or DVD player), simply press "Menu" and highlight the "Reset" option.
Reset television controls. In case you cannot fix your TV via its component settings, there are other ways of resetting. Just select "Menu", key in "1, 2, 3", and then press "Enter." In doing this, the TV's manufacturer's specifications will all be restored. If your TV's power system does not function, you should perform a complete system reset. You can do this by clicking on Reset System button located at the TV's control panel. Your television will be turned off and then a green light (LED) will quickly flash for approximately one minute. Once the light has stopped flashing, your TV should immediately turn on.

My LCD projection tv(KF-50E200A) displays projection lamp week when switched ON and out of red color display on the screen. Is this will happen if the projection lamp is week?

no and yes
the lamp warning is to alert you that a timer has expired that clocks the approximated life of the lamp in "hours of use".
it is never accurate and is dependent on whether or not it was reset the last time a lamp was replaced.
reset the lamp timer in the users "setup" menu.

the lamp has NOTHING to do with color, it only provides light.

check the connections between the TV and cable/satelite box...the red.green.blue component connector...the red one is likely loose.
if this does not correct you color problem, your optical engine has failed.
very expensive repair, not for the DIY type guy.

How can I attach an HDMI BluRay player to my TV

Blu-ray attaches to component inputs. Component cables are the red-green-blue cable and the red and white for sound.
Out on the blu-ray to 'In' on the TV.

Hi,
This would be 5 pins, red-white is for audio and rest of 3 pins red-green-blue for video signal, it calls component video.
Find out red-green-blue jacks at back of TV that would be label as Y, Yr, Yb
Plug each pin in same color to get color picture.

The color on the screen is green when I watch movies. How do I fix this problem?

Good day sir, your inquiry about the green lcd screen can be caused by several things. 1. The monitor/tv produces 3 colors, red green and blue, the tv mixes these three colors to produce the picture. a loss of red and blue produces this green screen. so check the cable, specially the red and blue jack of the component inputs, and the red and blue cable. 2. there may be loose contact on the signal cable. try using the video input instead of the component input. 3. the dvd player may have the problem, check the player component out jack. a loose jack port can cause these problem. hope this may help. thanks

DVD won't play movies in color

RCA cable connectors (red, white, yellow) are usually for an analog setup. You could still use these for "component" setup, but know the difference with color stamps as follows:

Component color stamps are "blue, green, red" ( blue is marked Pb, green is marked Y, red is marked Pr)

RCA color stamps your using are "red, white, yellow"

Here are the proper hook up method for "Component" using your "RCA" connectors:

On both the TV and DVD component setup:

Plug the red RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pr (red)

Plug the white RCA fitting in the component port marked "Pb (blue)

Plug the yellow RCA fitting in the component port marked "Y (green)

Be sure this setup is the same for the TV's component input ports, and the DVD's component output ports.

i-Note:

For optimum picture quality you may want to purchase component cables as the gage is thicker giving better impedance match resulting in better picture and sound quality.
