Bose Companion 5 Producing Unstable Sound

I have brand new BOSE Companion 5

I would like, why when I'm playing music with intensive bass, after 2-3 songs (around 15 minutes) the sounds become unstable, like the volume is being raised and decreased simultaneous and it really make my hearing dizzy.

But after I paused for 5 minutes - 10 minutes, it normal again, I think it's like being overheat/overused, but I think I didn't.

Comparing with my previous MAKO Razer 2.1 Speaker, to be honest that speakeris tougher at bass intensive.

Any of you encountered the same problem with my BOSE Companion 5 ?

Thank you for your kind attention.

Thanks for trying, but it's not about the volume, because the volume still at there (around 80%)

I have the same exact problem. I've had my companion 5 speakers for about 2 months now and I'm having this issue. I have the bass all the way up. I guess I'll try lowering the bass.

I have the same problem as you describe, so it must be a common issue. The manual does mention that the volume may drop to prevent overheating, the the fluctuation is irritating at times.

Had it again today. Disconnected and reconnected the power cable and it was gone! Not sure how it works. Does it sense the the temperature of the amp? Probably not. More likely to be some kind of timer that senses how long it has been running at a certain load. Disconnecting the power probably resets it.

The intensive bass is making the speaker shake very much and that could have caused a short that changes the volume after a while when the speaker has been shaking for a period of time. You could try lowering the bass or volume to see if it makes a change in how long it takes to make the volume change.

Is there any system to which you can connect your BOSE *and* have it work?
If not, then check that the BOSE is getting electrical power into it.

Try another set of speakers to eleiminate the BOSE speakers as being the issue (even cheap ones will do). If the problem does not re-occur, the issue is with the speakers.
If all the speaker jacks are plugged in correctly, I would consider returning this set, as it looks like the issue is within the circuitry of the Woofer

Hello Adam Hi, it looks like your main IC amplifier inside the main bass box is bad, need to replace that IC. What are your plans, do you want to do the repair or have it service by a tech guy.

Bose Companion 3 series II speakers aren't producing sound (imac)

from what I've read, the imac has a 3.5mm (.138) jack while the Bose jack is 1/8 (.125). very small difference in size (.013), but enough to cause problems.

Bose companion 5 problems

Have had Bose companion 5s for about three years. The external volume deveice in not active. If I unplug it, the sound goes dead. The indicator light is stuck on green and is very dim.. The touch feature does not respond nor does the volume. Sound is set very low an barely audible. Can I get replacement external volume control or is the problem inside the base unit itself? Any help out there with a similar problem.

Thanks JT

Bose Companion 5 Problems

email support@bose.com or contact a Bose Support Specialist in Germany; or call US support at 1-800-367-4008. Something very odd is happening here. You are using the same laptop, correct? If not, let me know, as there are some things to try. If Bose has a solution, I'd love to hear it.
